An ex-Apple employee has told people that they're ‘not missing out’ if they don’t have the latest iPhone model, and he has his reasons why.

The TikToker claimed that anyone with an iPhone 15 or lower doesn’t need to upgrade.

This was shared in a video as he tested out the upcoming features available with iOS 18.1.

Tyler Morgan, who is known on TikTok as @hitomidocameraroll, revealed his thoughts on the newest features to be introduced to Apple.

In the clip posted to the social media platform, Morgan said: “iOS 18.1 releases next week, this is what you can expect.”

Giving his device a list of commands, Morgan asked his iPhone ‘what time is it in Tokyo’ followed by ‘how about Germany’ and then ‘what time is it in Seoul’.

The vocal commands brought up immediate responses visible on the phone’s display.

Explaining a new photo tool, Morgan continued: “So, if you go into Edit, you'll see a new cleanup thing here. Now it's gonna highlight things that it recommends you remove and it does a pretty good job.”

There’s also a new feature that helps you to reword your text messages.

In order to use it, you ‘highlight’ the text you want to be reworded.

Morgan said: “You get these tools here, you can proofread it, rewrite it, make it more friendly, professional, concise.”

The TikToker went on to say: “It's not just text, it's anything - email, notes, whatever you wanna do.

“If you're looking at a page or document on Safari, you now can use the summary tool at the top [of the screen].”

However, not everything that’s recently been announced by Apple is available with the operating system upgrade.

Morgan said: “You don't get Image Playground, you don't get the make your own emoji, that's probably 18.2.”

And what’s more - you won’t be getting any of the new AI features unless you have a 15 Pro or higher.

But according to Morgan, it’s still ‘incomplete’.

Many viewers took to the TikTok comment section to share their reactions, with one user writing: “yo chill I haven't even updated to 18 yet idk if i should.”

Another said: “Google Pixel already has this smh.”

A third person commented: “What about Europe?”

This prompted a response which will be bad news for any Apple fans in Europe.

They said: “Not work in EU. Only US only on English only for iPhone 15 Pro/Max and 16/16 Pro/Max models.”
