There's more controversy in the streaming world, and while Darren "IShowSpeed" Watkins Jr. is no stranger to grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons, his latest fracas is particularly unusual.
Despite being just 20 years old, IShowSpeed is one of the most popular content creators around, winning multiple awards and amassing 46.4 million subscribers on YouTube.
While Speed hasn't quite reached the levels of Jimmy "MrBeast" Donaldson, he's definitely in the upper echelon of YouTube names, often going viral for his chaotic streams.
Known for wanting to team up with Elon Musk, being banned for outrageous stunts, and having to deal with warnings from the police in the middle of streams, Watkins Jr. has made a divisive name for himself.

With reports that taxpayers are paying 'thousands' for Speed to visit countries and boost tourism, it's a good job that he has a hefty bank balance, because it sounds like he's going to need it due to his latest scandal.
According to Complex, IShowSpeed is being sued for $1 million for allegedly 'assaulting' a homosexual robot called Jake the Rizzbot. Like Speed, Jake the Rizzbot popped up out of nowhere when it caused a scene in Austin, Texas, earlier in 2025. The Gen Alpha slang-spouting robot then appeared to come out as gay when it strutted through West Hollywood in rainbow attire and sported a sign that said, "Not Elon's b*tch."

In a lawsuit filed on December 8, Watkins Jr., Mixed Management, and producer Ames Ward are all named as defendants in a suit where Social Robotics, LLC. is asking for $1 million in monetary relief. It's alleged that IShowSpeed was "intentionally physical with Rizzbot" during a September 16 altercation in Austin.
At a time when the word 'clanker' is dubbed as offensive to some when referring to robots, the question of robot 'rights' is again rearing its head.
The complaint maintains that Watkins Jr. became "angry and agitated," then “intentionally assaulted” Jake the Rizzbot until it broke.
In footage, you can see a chipper Jake the Rizzbot singing Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" as a confused IShowSpeed watched it spin in circles. After making a series of 'fart' noises, a disgruntled Speed grabs it by the throat and repeatedly says: "Stop talking sh*t."
Watkins Jr. then says: "I swear bro, this robot 'bout to die."
Speed appears to get more vexed as Rizzbot spouts quotes from movies like Star Wars and The Terminator, and when it refuses to apologize to the streamer, he finally snaps. Toward the end of the footage, Watkins Jr. is seen punching the robot in the face and pinning it down before being dragged away. It ends with Jake the Rizzbot still laughing as it lies on the floor.
Social Robotics, LLC. alleged that Watkins Jr. caused 'irreparable' damage to the robot, which led to future gigs being cancelled. These supposedly included a co-hosting opportunity with MrBeast, as well as an appearance on CBS' The NFL Today Show.
The lawsuit explains: "This is no doubt a monumental setback for the RizzBot in terms of viral momentum and financial gain from the exposure. Being in a MrBeast production is akin to being in a Super Bowl commercial."
It's an admittedly unexpected development, with others in the comments mainly sharing their confusion.
One person accused the whole thing of being staged as they wrote: "I don’t get it. I’m seeing this everywhere. This is just like some publicity sh*t right?"
Another joked: "We got robot civil rights before GTA 6."
A third said: "Idk rizzbot laughed. Figure they didn’t mind."
