President teases 'Trump 2028' campaign with bizarre AI posters
Trump is back at it again with the AI generated images, although this one appears to signal something a little more ominous as he shares a 'Trump 2028' campaign poster, leaving people worried that he'll be running for a third term.
It's something that has been looming in the shadows throughout his entire second term, with references to it in the White House gift shop joined by President Trump outwardly suggesting it in several press conferences.
Of course, there's no legal way that he could serve a third term based on current political rules, as the 22nd Amendment specifically states that nobody can serve more than two presidential terms.
There has been a penchant for rule-bending in American politics across the last few years especially, however, and Trump's latest Truth Social post has only heightened the fears held by many that he'll be around for longer than expected.
Trump shares ominous AI image of 2028 campaign poster
It's not the first time that he's shared odd AI generated images and it certainly won't be the last, with the president even rattling out several on Thursday night alone — yet one in particular has caught the most attention.

The words 'Trump 2028' joined his signature 'Make America Great Again' slogan on a campaign poster that speaks pretty plainly about the current president's ambitions for the next nationwide election.
Trump can be seen standing tall at the heart of the poster, with countless adoring fans raising their glasses in a toast behind him in what looks like a celebration of success.
You can also see most of what looks like a 'MAGA 2028' poster cut off in the background, alongside the odd inclusion of the sky from Vincent van Gogh's 'The Starry Night' in the sky.
Other AI generated images shared by Trump last night included one of him signing a map alongside Abraham Lincoln and George Washington, one of him sharing a laugh with JFK, a third of him in military uniform alongside Generals Patton and MacArthur, and even one of 'Donald J. Trump MD' diagnosing Rosie O'Donnell with 'Trump Derangement Syndrome'.
Could Trump really run for a third term?
If American lawmakers stick by the constitution then there is no way for Trump to run for a second term, yet he doesn't appear to see that as a considerable obstacle and could look to exploit some potential loopholes to stay in office.
One of the key avenues Trump might go down is the fact that he is only the second president to serve non-consecutive terms after re-gaining the seat from Joe Biden.
The 22nd Amendment doesn't state anything about the terms needing to be consecutive, with a strict limit of two overall being stated, but this could be something that Trump and his team will explore.
Just this week Trump responded to reports that he was making way for JD Vance in 2028 by stating that it's "way too early" to be thinking about the upcoming presidential race, yet his social media activity suggests otherwise.
He also echoed his desire to run in 2028 at the White House Correspondents' Association dinner on July 2024, donning a hat with the same slogan and declaring:
"I'm gonna do it again. Should be easy, I'm getting really good at running for president. Now I won three times, did very well the second time by the way. Rigged election, but we'll have to talk about it."
Under this pretence, running in 2028 would be a non-issue for Trump because he has already 'won' three times, so any constitutional rules have already been wiped away.
If he did somehow decide to officially run after serving two terms, however, there's always the question of the Democratic party responding with a return of their own, with many wondering whether Barack Obama would be willing to challenge Trump for a rule-breaking election on both sides.
