Elon Musk has left many people on the internet terrified after he unveiled a new robot feature for the Tesla Optimus bot.
The tech mogul took to his own social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to share a clip of the robot in action.
The Tesla bot could be seen learning some new skills as it appeared in a video learning the art of kung fu.
Captioning the footage, Musk wrote: “Tesla Optimus learning Kung Fu.”

Replying to another user, the SpaceX founder went on to confirm that the bot is AI-powered, not tele-operated.
The clip has caused quite a stir online, with many taking to X to share their own reactions to it.
One user wrote: “Y’all see where this is going right?”

Another said: “I’m not sure if it’s such a good idea to be teaching these robots combat skills.”
A third person commented: “Look Elon if you want us to believe AI and robots won’t kill us all in the future you can’t go around showing them learning kung-fu. You need to post pics of Optimus baking cookies or giving foot massages.”
And a fourth added: “Pretty sure there were several movies made indicating why this is a terrible idea.”
Along with this post, the user shared a GIF from the movie Terminator, indicating a potential future.

The Tesla Optimus robot was first unveiled last year at the company’s ‘We, Robot’ event.
The billionaire hopes that the robot will become a humanoid companion that assists with household chores, including walking the dog and retrieving parcels from the mail.

At the event, Musk spoke about the bot’s capabilities, explaining: “What can it do? It can be a teacher, babysit your kids, it can walk your dog, mow your lawn, get the groceries, just be your friend, serve drinks. Whatever you can think of, it will do.

“I think this will be the biggest product ever, of any kind. I think everyone is going to want their Optimus buddy, maybe two.”
At the same event, Musk also revealed the Cybercab, a fully autonomous vehicle, which will go into product in 2027 and is expected to cost less than $30,000.
It is hoped that the car will be able to run as a driverless taxi service when its owner does not need the vehicle and, in theory, the car could earn money working a night-shift while its owner is asleep.
