Baba Vanga makes terrifying predictions for 2026 that would plunge world into utter chaos

Just when you think things can't get any worse

When it comes to famous mystics, it's a largely two-horse race between Nostradamus and Baba Vanga. Despite him passing away way back in 1566 and her in 1996, people are still obsessed with their predictions.

As the world continues to go to sh*t, some find a morbid solace in Baba Vanga's predictions and her soothsayer potential. The Bulgarian mystic’s supporters claim she's been right about everything from the death of Princess Diana to 9/11, and with her making predictions for the next 3,000 years, there's a lot to pore over.

'Living Nostradamus' Athos Salomé has since filled the void left behind by the OG and Baba Vanga, but when it comes to the latter, she had plenty to say about 2026. We're not quite in the full throes of World War III like some are convinced Baba Vanga foreshadowed for 2025, although we can't help but feel we're not far off it. So, do we need to get our affairs in order for 2026, or are we in for a slightly smoother ride?

What has Baba Vanga predicted for 2026?

We'd all love some positive predictions after a pretty rough 2025, but we're sorry to report that it doesn't look like that’ll be the case when it comes to Baba Vanga. With everything from an ever-evolving artificial intelligence industry to potential contact from alien lifeforms, there's a lot to look out for in the next calendar year.

Contact from alien lifeforms

While both NASA and the Pentagon claim there's no real proof of alien contact, conspiracy theorists refuse to buy it. Baba Vanga predicted first contact from extraterrestrials in 2026, and with the imminent arrival of the mysterious 3I/ATLAS object, this one feels a little too close to home. There's plenty of speculation about what would happen if/when aliens make contact, and while it could all be very Independence Day, we hope it's more like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

More time in space

Sticking with the cosmic theme, Baba Vanga thinks we could start mining energy from Venus in 2028. It's true that we might be jumping the gun with a 2028 prediction, and let's remember that Elon Musk has only marked out getting the human race to Mars by 2028. Sorry, Baba V, we might have to stick a pin in this one for now.

Devastating natural disasters

2025 memorably opened with the harrowing Los Angeles wildfire, and even though a 29-year-old man has been arrested under suspicion of deliberately starting them, nature helped spur them on. In the aftermath of a massive Russian earthquake, there are fears the deadly 'Ring of Fire' could erupt, with up to 8% of the planet bracing for natural disasters. Whether volcanoes, tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, or something else, the only problem is that Baba Vanga doesn't reveal where (or what) these freak events will strike in 2026.

The brink of war

f Baba Vanga were alive today, we imagine she'd be looking pretty smug about her prediction of escalating conflict. The Doomsday Clock is closer to midnight than ever before, with the world feeling like war could break out at any moment. That could be said for most years, so Baba Vanga's guess that we'll be thrown into a global conflict in 2026 is a particularly vague one. Still, all this talk of World War III could put some important fingers on some important big red buttons. The only saving grace is that she claims the world won't end until the year 5079.

Synthetic organs

Medical advancements have come a long way since Baba Vanga died in 1996, but are synthetic organs next on the list? She managed to convince her followers that doctors and nurses will be relying on synthetic organs by 2046, and with the likes of 3D-printed ears and gene-edited pig kidney transplants coming on leaps and bounds, 2026 could put some major foundations in place for this milestone.

Trouble for the economy

Everyone has money worries, but following President Donald Trump's new budget plans, which tanked the stock market and wiped out $2 trillion in a matter of seconds, that might continue in 2026. Potential alien invasions, a slew of natural disasters, and political upheaval are all tipped to tighten the purse strings and push us into financial hardships. So, you'd better start saving.

An AI U-turn

For those who are worried artificial intelligence will soon destroy he human race, Baba Vanga finally has some good news. She alludes to the idea that experts will realize they've gone 'too far' with AI, pulling a U-turn and clamping down on this exponentially evolving part of the tech industry before it goes too far. Given all the fears about the human race losing out to AI, it being a catalyst in the next big war, or simply taking over our jobs in the more immediate future, Baba Vanga suggests the leash is about to be tightened.
