The end is nigh, but thankfully, we don't mean that the Earth is going to open up and swallow us whole as the Horsemen of the Apocalypse ride across a fiery sky. At least, we hope that's not what's going to happen.
We mean that the end is nigh for 2025, as we prepare to close the book on a truly wild year that's included everything from alien comet mothership theories to Katy Perry launching into space, Nicki Minaj becoming a surprise member of the MAGA movement, and fears that a Russian earthquake could trigger a deadly Ring of Fire.
While many are more than happy to turn their back on 2025, there are still a few days left. Even though we're nearly there, there's a rumbling that one of Baba Vanga's prophecies could still come true.
The blind Bulgarian mystic made a name for herself by seemingly foreshadowing everything from World War II to the Chernobyl disaster during her lifetime, and although she died back in 1991, she's still attributed to accurately predicting 9/11, President Barack Obama, and more.

Even in 2025, some claim Baba Vanga predicted the apocalyptic Myanmar earthquake. Despite her death at the ripe old age of 84, Baba Vanga has made predictions for the next 3,000 years. Safe to say, it doesn't look like it's going to be much fun for the human race.

Some might be looking ahead to Baba Vanga's predictions for 2026, but before we get there, there's a chance that one more of 2025's could come true.
Notably, Baba Vanga claimed that a mysterious object would appear like a 'new light in the sky' during a globally televised event – potentially giving humanity its first contact with alien life.
Given all the chatter about 3I/ATLAS, could it really bring us communication with the cosmos? As for the specifics of the event, it just so happens that the Africa Cup of Nations soccer tournament is still underway. Others have noted that New Year's Eve celebrations tend to be televised, with alien contact being one hell of a way to welcome the new year with a bang.
The prophecy was originally interpreted to refer to the UFO during a sporting event, although it's since been altered. Many thought this year's Super Bowl would mark this milestone, but instead, we were left without answers.

As some two billion people watch the Africa Cup of Nations across 180 territories, it definitely has the pull of an audience if little green men want to touch base with us.
3I/ATLAS already made its closest pass to Earth on December 19, but even if we count the comet out, Baba Vanga's (vague) prophecy could be pointing toward the Northern Lights or the T Coronae Borealis Nova supernova. T Coronae Borealis Nova sits some 3,000 light-years away and was highly anticipated for 2025, but has yet to make an appearance.
With the clock ticking closer to midnight on December 31, there are just a handful of days left until another of Baba Vanga's prophecies is debunked. Then again, with her heralding so much doom and gloom, is that really a bad thing?
