Elon Musk has hit out against one former Trump aid and White House official in a new ominous post on X, indicating that he will be 'going back to prison' for a 'long time'.

While he has been accused by some of 'grovelling' in recent days, most of Elon Musk's recent behavior on social media has involved inflammatory attacks against US President Donald Trump and his associates.

Their falling out appears to have been centered around the newly proposed Big Beautiful Bill - especially in the way it targets electric vehicles and raises America's debt ceiling - although suggestions from the president have raised further concerns for Musk.

Following Musk's threats to bankroll Republican opposition and start his own political party, President Trump appeared to suggest that he'd be open to the prospect of deporting Musk, despite his naturalized status in the United States.

This proposition was initially proposed by former White House Chief Strategist and Senior Counselor Steve Bannon, who served under Trump for several months during his first term.

Bannon proclaimed that Musk, who is South African born, should be deported following his tirade against Trump in early June, and even went as far to claim that his companies including SpaceX should be seized by the government.

Musk has now hit out against at Bannon on X, offering an ominous statement that could hint towards the future of the former government official.

What has Elon Musk said about Steve Bannon?

As reported by Mediaite, Elon Musk appeared to threaten Steve Bannon when replying to a post that outlined the latter's desire to nationalize SpaceX.

"Bannon is going back to prison," Musk wrote. "This time for a long time."

It's unclear quite what Musk is referring to here and whether he holds any form of insider information that could lead to Bannon's arrest, or if he's simply hoping for the best - or worst, in this case.

Bannon was recently convinced and sentenced to four months in prison following a conviction of Contempt of Congress across two counts after failing to provide documents and testify as part of a subpoena.

He was also charged with money laundering, conspiracy, and scheme to defraud in the state of New York back in September 2022.

This is far from the first time that Musk has lashed out against Bannon, and appears to hold a particular grudge against the former Trump aide that has only grown since his split from the president.

"Bannon advocates crime, because he is a criminal," Musk wrote back in early June, adding multiple replies echoing similar statements alongside calling him a "communist r*****" in reply to a post that argued that Bannon doesn't 'represent American values'.

Much like Musk's previous social media responses though, there are many users in the replies urging him to keep his mouth shut as everything he says seems to tank Tesla stock.
