Donald Trump discusses deporting Elon Musk as bill feud intensifies

The POTUS and his 'First Buddy' have had a major falling out

The divorce of the century is only getting worse, as Elon Musk and Donald Trump continue to lock horns.

The President of the United States and the world's richest man had a spectacular falling out over the former's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, and while things seemed to die down for a while, they've exploded once again.

Never afraid to hold his tongue, Elon Musk has taken to X to lambast Donald Trump, also calling out anyone willing to vote the bill through.

Musk has accused the POTUS of potentially 'destroying' America, costing us millions of jobs, and endangering the future of the United States.

The tech billionaire has even vowed to form his own political party if the One Big Beautiful Bill Act passes, further cementing the idea that his political allegiance with the Republican Party could be at an end.

Although Trump originally downplayed his former BFF's complaints and said he still doesn't wish Musk any ill will, he's since made a shocking statement about potentially deporting him.

Former White House official Steve Bannon previously called for Musk to be deported, but speaking to reporters as he left the White House to head to an immigration detention facility in Florida, Trump said he'd look into deportation.

Although Musk is a naturalized American citizen, he was originally born in South Africa. After Trump was asked if he would deport Musk, he replied: "I don’t know. We’ll have to take a look."

The question is, could it actually happen? A lawyer previously reminded us of the case of Mahmoud Khalil, where the government relied on the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Basically, if the Secretary of State believes someone's presence could impact the USA's foreign policy, they could be deported.

Still, Musk's naturalized status gives him full constitutional protection that would be almost impossible to breach.

LegalEagle says there are potential loopholes, concluding: "If someone obtains citizenship through fraud, the government might revoke their citizenship. This process is known as denaturalization."

Even if not deported, Musk could be stung in the pocket. After heading up the Department of Government Efficiency to try and eliminate governmental waste, Trump suggested turning the DOGE on its creator.

Teasing his next move, the President said: "We might have to put Doge on Elon. You know what Doge is? Doge is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon."

Trump has suggested that Musk's only opposition to the bill, as well as their general falling out, is due to the administration's opposition to tax incentives on electric vehicles.

As Tesla is one of Musk's main ventures, he would undoubtedly be losing out in a big way.

Whatever happens next, Musk could be about to make an extremely powerful enemy unless the former 'First Buddy' can smooth things over.
