Elon Musk has made a major pledge in his fight against the Trump administration's 'Big Beautiful Bill', as the world's richest man has now claimed that he will bankroll campaigns against any Republican lawmakers who vote for the Senate bill.
It's unclear quite how much Elon Musk is regretting his support for Donald Trump's presidential election bid right now - which the billionaire claimed he was the catalyst for its victory - but the consequences of Trump's leadership could prove destructive for his businesses.
While the fight itself, which involved accusations of Epstein associations and bizarre medical conditions, rightfully took all of the headlines, the aftermath of Trump and Musk's fiery conflict appear to have had far greater consequences for the tech mogul than he might have anticipated.
Musk had remained adamantly against a new major Senate bill (dubbed the 'Big Beautiful Bill' by Trump) since its inception, calling it 'utterly insane and destructive' in a recent post on X, and he has announced new extreme measures in an attempt to block it from passing.

What has Elon Musk said?
As reported by the Independent, Elon Musk has now 'threatened' any Republicans in Congress who vote to pass the Big Beautiful Bill with major pressure at the next election, and claiming he'd go through with his promise even 'if it's the last thing' he does.

He revealed the claim in a new post on X, detailing:
"Every member of Congress who campaigned on reducing government spending and then immediately voted for the biggest debt increase in history should hand their head in shame! And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth."
He also increased the threats in a follow-up post, outlining that "anyone who campaigned on the PROMISE of REDUCING SPENDING, but continues to vote on the BIGGEST DEBT ceiling increase in HISTORY will see their face on this poster in the primary next year."
The post was accompanied with an AI-generated image of Pinocchio, with the 'LIAR' and 'Voted to increase America's DEBT by $5,000,000,000,000' emblazoned across the 'poster'.
Why is Musk against the Big Beautiful Bill?
Musk's opposition to the new Senate bill is broadly separated into two primary concerns: removal of support for electric vehicles and 'new tech', and an increase of America's debt ceiling.

These posts focus singularly on the debt concerns, which Musk appears personally harmed by following his work as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). His role there controversially focused on mass cuts across the American government's spending to reduce what he called an 'unsustainable' debt, so to see that increase effectively nullifies all of his work.

Additionally, the bill also proposes removing all EV regulations and credits, which Musk's Tesla benefits heavily from, and raises taxes on wind and solar projects.
Musk attacked this, claiming that "it gives handouts to industries of the past while severely damaging industries of the future," and it would likely be a financial dent in the progress of Tesla.

President Trump himself claimed that this particular concern was the moment his relationship with Musk became 'strange', so it's understandable why it has transformed into strong opposition for the Senate bill.
