You're likely to encounter at least one of the numerous side effect when taking Ozempic for weight loss purposes, yet one user has revealed their shock after they ran into an unexpected 'sticky' butt-related issue.
Health experts are still studying the long term effects of taking treatments like Ozempic or Mounjaro on our body, especially as using them to lose weight is not the original or intended purpose.
While doctors advise patients that they're likely to run into some nausea and other similar symptoms as part of the process, people who use weight loss jabs also have to content with the possibility of numerous wild side effects, including ones that give you bad breath and adversely impact your bowel movements.
One such of these side effects is referred to by users as 'Ozempic Butt', and it can often creep up on you if you're not engaging in the right habits and approaching your weight loss journey the right way.
What is Ozempic Butt?
Ozempic Butt can manifest itself in a number of different ways, but it generally refers to the loss of muscle mass in the rear of your body, leaving you either with a softer behind or one that can be painful throughout the day.

Dietary changes or an increase in physical activity can lead to this too, as the reduction in muscle mass can leave you with excess or saggy skin in some areas of your body — and it can even cause you pain when sat down as there's not enough fat or muscle there to cushion your body.
One user on Reddit has shared their experience running into Ozempic Butt, however, and it offered up an unexpectedly 'sticky' situation that they'd rather avoid.
"This is not putting down GLP1s. I am still overwhelmingly satisfied with my weight loss," they clarified, before getting into the heart of the issues.
"I don't look at myself in the mirror [...] but I've been feeling something sticky on my butt and was worrying it was like a pad that had slipped down, IYKYK. BUT IT WAS MY BUTT!"
They clarified that 'they never had this before', asking others within the r/Ozempic community if they'd both experienced something similar, and if they had any exercises to help avoid the issue going forward.
How to avoid Ozempic Butt
Ultimately the best and perhaps only way to avoid Ozempic Butt when using the treatment is to integrate regular and targeted exercise into your weekly routines, with many commenters pointing the user towards leg workouts to help the issue.

Another suggested upping your protein intake – something that the original poster was trying to do with certain yoghurts – while others tried to downplay the issue by explaining that it simply happens with some people's bodies, regardless of how thin they may be.
Highlighting the issue or your potential concerns surrounding Ozempic Butt to your doctor could also lead them to adjust the dosage you're given, and Dr W. Scott Butsch, a specialist in weight loss treatment, revealed to Cleveland Clinic that "the amount [of protein] you need can vary from person to person, but as a general rule, [it] should account for between 10 and 35 percent of your daily calories."
