It could be time for Elon Musk to pack up his bags and find somewhere else to call home, and while the South Africa-born billionaire has been a US citizen since 2002, there are jokes about him seeking political asylum in Russia. After all, making an enemy out of arguably the world's most powerful man isn't a good idea.

Things quickly started going wrong for Elon Musk when he called out President Donald Trump over his One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Referring to the bill as a 'disgusting abomination', the POTUS suggested that Musk was suffering from 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' after going 'crazy' when the electric vehicle mandate was pulled.

This clearly didn't sit well with Musk, who went on to claim (and then delete) that the coveted Epstein Files haven't been fully released because Trump's name is in there.

The President has suggested he has no intention of patching things up with his former First Buddy, and in the aftermath, Musk has been receiving multiple offers from Russia for him to seek political asylum over there.

We've already covered how a move under Vladimir Putin's bosom could cost Musk half of his fortune, but now, artificial intelligence has warned about the legal ramifications he could also face if he heads to Russia.

ChatGPT reminds Musk of the diplomatic and legal repercussions, notably that a US citizen accepting asylum in Russia could be seen as a political provocation in a time when tensions run high between the two. Musk could be investigated under national security and economic regulations. In terms of the legal actions, ChatGPT adds: "If Musk were facing legal scrutiny in the U.S. (hypothetically for something like classified tech issues, sanctions violations, etc.), this move could accelerate legal action or result in sealed indictments becoming public."

Like we said about Musk's substantial worth taking a hammering, companies like Tesla and SpaceX would likely face immediate regulatory backlash. In particular, SpaceX could see its government contracts with NASA and the Department of Defense being revoked. The USA could also impose sanctions on the world's richest man and prevent his companies from accessing key markets or technologies. If that wasn't enough, volatile markets might see investors run from Musk's ventures and stock prices plummet.

Musk would likely have his travel restricted, be painted as a defector, and platforms like X could become a tool for Russia.

🚨 Russia just offered Elon Musk political asylum amid his feud with Trump.
A Russian senator said, “Come to us, Elon. You’ll have full freedom for technological creativity.”
Even Medvedev joked about mediating peace between “D and E” in exchange for Starlink shares.

Russia would also seemingly benefit from landing a whale like Musk, using him as a propaganda coup. Western allies could distance themselves from his ventures, while China's ties to Tesla could push it between a rock and a hard place, as it doesn't want to alienate the USA or appear supportive of his move to Russia.

It's not all doom and gloom for the tech billionaire thanks to the potential of Russia shielding him from US prosecution, as well as Russia offering him new incentives, resources, and facilities to expand his companies.

ChatGPT sums up saying: "Accepting asylum in Russia would be a radical and disruptive geopolitical event, likely triggering serious legal consequences in the U.S., a collapse in investor confidence, and a reshaping of Musk’s global persona from tech innovator to controversial political exile. It would not be a move without enormous cost, both personal and professional."
