In the words of Kylie Minogue, "I'm spinning around, move out of my way."

While we wouldn't recommend submerging your gadgets in water and then sending them on a spin cycle, one plucky GoPro owner has done just that, so you don't have to.

Modern washing machines are a far cry from the clunky and somewhat menacing ones of yesteryear, which thankfully means horror stories about kids dying inside them are few and far between.

Still, there was a harrowing 2021 case in New Zealand, when a three-year-old girl ended up inside a front-loading washing machine and died from a brain injury caused by enclosed space asphyxia.

Elsewhere, there's a new fear unlocked when you dive into tales of adults who've died after becoming trapped in machines in industrial laundries.

A bit like when some might imagine what it's like to jump off a high building (known as the High Place Phenomenon), there's a YouTube video explaining our morbid fascination with being inside a washing machine.

The GRN Appliances channel has a humble 1,900 subscribers, with some 136 videos explaining their love of washing machines and hobby of fixing them. In one video, they plonk a GoPro inside and give us a full one-hour cycle.

If you thought a video of watching dolphins with GoPros attached to them was the most entertaining thing you'd watch today, you ain't seen anything yet.

A bit like when people enjoy sitting by a virtual fireplace or listening to white noise to help them sleep, it's a pretty relaxing video that we're sure would help some get 40 winks.

Following oddly entertaining videos of GoPros being purposefully dropped down 300ft wells, off the side of a cruise ship, or placed inside a dirty dishwasher, seeing a GoPro in a washing machine is sure to become a fan-favorite.

The OP explains how they'd bought some stronger magnets for their GoPro, and with it affixed to the drum, they could get a still video of a wash cycle. Using a very light load and no detergent, we get a crystal clear view of inside the machine without the headache of spinning around.

It's a bit disconcerting when you remember the GoPro is actually rotating, but in the comments, it seems viewers love this kind of video.

One person called out other similar videos as they said: "This is actually the best video I've seen, great job!"

Another added: "This is like the Jaws movie inside your washer but without the sharks, it's just laundry with the socks."

Agreeing with what we said earlier, someone else concluded: "This sound is actually great white noise to go to sleep to. No disrespect intended. Great vid."

In case you weren't sure, yes, there are lots of similar videos to this, and yes, there's a very passionate community that can't get enough of them.
