Questions are finally answered after a man put a camera inside his dishwasher to uncover what really happens in there.

The YouTube clip has left people seriously reconsidering their kitchen setup after the video revealed what actually goes on inside a dishwasher when it is at work.

Some viewers have shared that they do not know whether they will even use their dishwasher again after the clip was uploaded to the YouTube page known as povsadventures.

In the clip, the narrator explained why they had decided to film their dishwasher in action, saying: “I put a camera in a dishwasher because I, like many others, wonder what really went on in there.

“I added a light, so it would be super clear and then I also filled it up more, I added a tide pod, I strapped the camera in, closed the dishwasher and then it was time to see what happened.”

Sounds all good so far, and inside the dishwasher, we can see a jet of water shoot out and is spread by a spinning dial in the center.

The dishes get increasingly clean as time passes but that is not what got people talking, it was the color of the liquid.

Unlike dazzling commercials that show dishes looking sparkly clean after being washed in blue water, it appeared more brown and yellow than people were expecting and many were left questioning what it even was.

No clear answer was provided by the uploader but some people suspected it could have been due to the tide pod used, possible discoloration from iron or manganese in the water supply, a faulty dishwasher, while others argued that dishwashers were simply unclean.

One user joked: “Bro got the dishwasher hooked up to his septic tank.”

Another said: “Thank you for helping me see reasons why hand washing is best.”

A third wrote: “I am glad I was not the only one who was shocked by the brown water, thank you for sharing anyway.”

With another commenting: “After seeing it from the inside, I'm concerned about whether the dishes are actually getting cleaned.”

With a fifth person writing: “Before the machine starts you can see standing brown water in the bottom of the washer basin, this isn't normal. I use to work as a whirlpool appliance installer, he either set this up for reactions or the machine is broken and not draining.”
