WWDC 2025 is here, and with it, Apple is showing us what it's been cooking. The yearly showcase reveals what the tech giant is working on and what's on the way, and while there was disappointment that we didn't get the much-hyped reveal of the iPhone 17, there was plenty of other things that had you taking to X to share your views.
Some of the big reveals were spoiled ahead of time, but Apple still got to give us a closer look at new features like Liquid Glass.
There was plenty else to enjoy, and as well as a new iOS naming system and an overhauled Photos app, we're finally getting a much-requested feature that Google has been boasting for years.

Apple is sometimes been accused of being behind the times, and to be honest, we're surprised it took so long to get hold assist.
Now, Hold Assist will keep your place in the queue when you're on hold by automatically identifying hold music. While the call stays connected, it takes away the need for you to needlessly stray on the line. When your agent is available, it'll automatically reconnect you after a notification.
There's also Call Screening, which is another popular addition pinched from Google. This should be the end of nuisance calls, but we'll have to wait and see things in action.

Responding to the news, one person said: "Apple is finally introducing "Call Screening" and "Hold Call," features that have been available on the Google Pixel for some time. Yay! Finally!"
Another cheered: "In my opinion, the greatest feature Google ever created! Glad it’s on iPhone now!"
A third said: "Apple’s stealing Pixel’s vibe with call screening and Hold assist— about time they caught up! This liquid glass glow is next-level though.
Not everyone was a fan, with someone else chuckling: "World in 2025; introducing the AI that’s gonna change the world apple 2025: we’re giving you backgrounds in messages/chat 🤡."

Even if this wasn't quite the massive overhaul that was promised, there were still plenty of features making things feel a little more futuristic on your iPhone.
