Apple Pay is getting a potentially game-changing new update when iOS 27 drops this month, fixing one of the most annoying features when trying to switch between your cards as you pay.
Many iPhone users simply couldn't live without Apple Pay, as it removes the worry about not having your card on you while adding convenience and time saving whenever you go and pay.
Those benefits don't come without their issues, however, and chief among them for countless iPhone owners is the frustration when trying to switch between cards, with visible data also proving difficult to parse in the checkout screen.
Apple has come to the rescue with the launch of iOS 27, however, as alongside all of the other amazing features that are set to arrive after this month's Apple Event, the new update brings with it a big refresh for Apple Pay that could transform how you use the service.
How is Apple Pay changing in iOS 27?
As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple has introduced a significant update to how the checkout flow operates in Apple Pay, allowing users to easily switch between different payment cards and view key details about their different payment methods.

Not only can you now swipe between cards with a single motion on the same page, but you can also tap on any card to open up a brand new grid view that shows you everything in your wallet in one easy-to-navigate place.
"The design allows them to seamlessly swipe to switch cards, conveniently surfacing important information ab out their eligible cards in Apple Wallet," explains Apple in reference to the update, "including rewards, balances, debit account balance, pay later options, and more – so they can make more informed payment decisions."
Gone are the days when you need to check whether you've got enough money on your card to pay something, as it shows up right when you go to check out to give you all of the information you need.
When will iOS 27 release?
While there is no official confirmation from Apple for when iOS 27 will become available to iPhone users across the globe, it's expected that it'll drop after the Apple Event on September 9, following a schedule that has remained consistent for years.
It usually drops around a week after the event if that happens in early September, with the earliest and latest launch since iOS 6 being September 12th and September 20th respectively.
You can take a look and go hands on with some of the features that are set to arrive with iOS 27 right now by checking out the Public Beta, but not everything is included there and there's bound to be some features still hidden up Apple's sleeve that will be shown off next Wednesday.
