iPhone users spot 'suspicious' iOS 27 feature they think will cause trouble in relationships
This week marked the release of Apple’s latest operating system upgrade after it was first announced earlier this year.
The new iOS 27 is available for Apple users to download and it comes with a whole host of new features. One addition in particular, however, has got a lot of people talking on social media, and not necessarily for the right reasons.
This comes after it was revealed that the tech giant had added a new way for people to hide their location in the Find My Friends app.
As reported by MacRumors, the feature allows users to now ‘pause your location sharing with specific people until the end of the day, without them knowing. The ability to hide your location is meant for things like planning a surprise birthday party for your spouse’.

This prompted many people to take to the internet to share their own thoughts on the matter, with one user writing on Reddit: “‘The ability to hide your location is meant for things like planning a surprise birthday party for your spouse’ Mmhmm.”
Another said: “Come home to a surprise with your spouse cheating.”
A third person commented: “One time I opened Find My because I was missing an AirPod and happened to notice that a close couple that both share their location with me were nearby. I thought maybe depending on how close, we could grab lunch together so I zoomed in a bit to see that they were at a fertility clinic. I found out they were pregnant well before most of their inner circle.”
Features coming to Apple’s new iOS 27
Other features now available with the operating system include one that fans have been begging for for years.
The feature in question is the ability to control the device’s ringtone, alarm and notification volumes separately.
The change has quietly appeared in Apple’s upcoming iOS 27 update, giving users considerably more control over how loud their iPhone gets for different types of alerts.
The new options can be found by heading to Settings, followed by Sounds & Haptics, where there is now a ‘Match Ringtone Volume’ setting, which can be switched off to separate the controls.
Once this is disabled, users can adjust the volume for alarms and system alerts independently rather than having everything tied to the same setting.
