5 huge rumors all iPhone, iPad and MacBook users should know ahead of today's Apple's keynote

An Apple a day keeps the tech rivals away

The eyes of the tech world are firmly on Apple, as the iPhone manufacturer is set to make a series of major reveals at a June 9 keynote event.

As we gear up for the eventual release of the iPhone 17, Apple is busy tinkering away on plenty of other things.

We've heard about a potential change to the way Apple names its iOS updates, but this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what the team has been beavering away on.

As noted by Mac Rumors, there's plenty on the way as we head into the Worldwide Developers Conference 2025, and Apple's Tim Cook is expected to take to the stage to reveal what the company has been working on and what's ahead.

What is rumored to be announced at WWDC 2025?

The big one is the aforementioned change of iOS 26 instead of iOS 19.

Moving forward, Apple is poised to name its operating systems after specific years. In terms of what iOS 19 is bringing, there's said to be a new Liquid Glass design dubbed 'Solarium', a more simplistic version of the Phone app, and brand-new Messages features.

It's also said that iPadOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, and tvOS 26 will have design changes.

While the much-hyped Siri update is still being delayed, it's still thought that Apple Intelligence will be getting an upgrade.

As well as a revamped Shortcuts app, there's also Mixmoji on the way.

iPads are apparently going to work more like a Mac, with iPad models running iPadOS 26 apparently a macOS-inspired menu bar when connected to a Magic Keyboard.

The next Mac operating system is reportedly called macOS Tahoe, but in bad news, it might drop support for Intel-based Macs.

Finally, we're warned that there might be no new hardware announced.

The site notes that while a new AirTag is supposedly on the way, it might not be announced at WWDC 2025.

There's also a mention about Apple seemingly trademarking homeOS, meaning the long-awaited smart home hub could be on the way.

Given how Apple Intelligence was the big talking point of last year's keynote, there are sure to be a slew of announcements related to artificial intelligence.

Then again, the Siri stumbles suggest a more modest approach to Apple Intelligence.

Looking further ahead, we'll have to keep our eyes peeled for when Apple will announce the iPhone 17. There's also no sign of when the rumored foldable iPhone could make an appearance, but with WWDC 2025 poised to set Apple up for the next 12 months.
