It would be an understatement to say that Apple has found success in the tech industry, yet for every iPhone or Macbook you can find a product that didn't do quite as well, and some users have taken a trip down memory lane to find the company's worst ever devices.
Not everything can be a winner after all, and you can even look at successful gadgets overall like the iPhone and find certain iterations which didn't quite hit it out of the park upon release.
It can often come down to hardware, software, implementation of new features, or simply the circumstances surrounding its release, but all of these releases have earned their spot in Apple's hall of shame, and it's probably for the best that they're forgotten.
So, as shared by SlashGear, here are the products released by Apple that still grind the gears of any fan.
iPhone 6
There's never been a bigger product in the smartphone world than the iPhone, as it's the device that almost singlehandedly sunk multiple giants of the industry when it released, and changed how we used phones forever.

That doesn't mean that Apple always got it right though, and the iPhone 6 is the perfect example of that despite achieving record-breaking sales numbers shortly after release.
The issues with this phone are broadly split into two camps, unfortunately affecting both software and hardware to make an overall awful experience for anyone who bought the phone at launch.

First up is the notorious 'bendgate' that will send shivers down the spine of any former iPhone 6 owners. This came from the fact that both the standard iPhone 6 and Plus variant both were incredibly susceptible to bending under pressure, particularly if you were someone who keeps it in your back pocket.

Adding onto these issues, it also suffered following the release of iOS 10.2.1, making the device slower and even leading to battery issues.
Macbook butterfly keyboard
Another serial offender – if not for the length of time it persisted in Apple's lineup – is the butterfly keyboard design present in almost all Macbooks released between 2015 and 2019.
This new design aimed to shorten the travel distance of keys compared to the standard 'scissor' design present in traditional laptop keyboards, but it became immediately clear that this wasn't up to scratch.

Not only was it prone to breaking far easier than expected, but the repairs were complex and expensive, becoming the bane of Apple consumers and staff members alike.
"I worked in repair at that time. It was astonishing," writes one Reddit user in reference to the butterfly keyboard. "Also, the screws they used to keep those keyboards in were basically made of sand."
Apple Maps
Even the biggest Apple lovers will likely concede that Google Maps has always been superior to Apple's offerings, but that was especially true when the latter was first launched.

You'd often be served nonsensical navigation instructions and strange glitches that made it overall an unreliable product, which is definitely not something you want when you're on the road.
This was especially the case for anyone living outside of the US, as one Reddit user puts it: "A lot of the time there is no information about places or businesses, some recent neighborhoods can't be found in Apple Maps, the directions are outdated and in some cases wrong."
iPad (third generation)
iPads have become somewhat niche in recent years as they find themselves in a strange spot between the iPhone and Macbook, but they were all the rage in the first few iterations thanks to the large screen.

However, the hype didn't save the third generation iPad, as many now consider it to be the worst of its kind thanks to performance failures and a lack of updates to key hardware.
"This is the single worst iPad ever made," writes one commenter on Reddit. "The increase in resolution and the lack of RAM make it the poorest performing iPad they ever produced."

Apple quickly rectified many of these issues by released the fourth gen variant just eight months later, and it's probably for the best that the third generation has largely been forgotten 13 years after its release.
Siri
While other failures have had successes in some areas, it's probably safe to say that Siri hasn't ever been unilaterally popular despite Apple's attempts to push it as a primary feature across its devices.
It just doesn't seem to handle most tasks well, it's implementation has always been lacklustre, and it's now in the midst of a long-awaited AI overhaul that has repeatedly been delayed.
Siri has come in handy in some cases – and even saved one woman's life in a horrific situation – but for most people it's simply never been good enough and at this point most people would rather whatever new form it takes to have a completely different name.
