After Apple announced a range of new products yesterday, including the company’s first ever foldable phone, Samsung has taken a public swipe in a savage new post.
Yesterday (September 9), Apple unveiled the iPhone Duo, a first of its kind for the firm as it is its first ever foldable smartphone.

However, it seems that not everyone was a fan of the iPhone Duo as Samsung took to the internet to take a swipe at the announcement.
Posting on X, formerly Twitter, the competing phone manufacturer wrote: “Was there range? No. Was it exciting? No. Did it happen? Yes. #ItsTimeToSwitch.”
Samsung went on to say: “Let us know when you’re done reheating our leftovers.”

The firm’s first foldable device was initially previewed back in 2018, with it officially released in September 2019 - a whopping seven years before Apple finally followed suit.
Many people took to social media to react to Samsung’s dig at the Apple announcement, with one person writing on Reddit: “Samsung mobile is like that annoying little brother that can't help themselves but get annoyed by everything you do.”
Another said: “Samsung's whole schtick is to rush gimmicks to market and then claim that Apple (when they follow with a more thoughtful, well-designed implementation) is copying them.”
A third user commented: “Not that I think Samsung is doing a great job, but in this instance, they're right to make fun of Apple. This phone is stupid, and it's hideous looking. I can't imagine this being a huge hit for Apple.”
And a fourth added: “Like clockwork. I’d be worried if an Apple “competitor” didn’t mock a new product release.”
Apple’s new foldable iPhone Duo
Apple’s introduction of the iPhone Duo came after years of speculation that the company had been working on the product for some time.
While a foldable phone isn’t exactly a novelty for the industry at this point, some users have suggested that Apple has been quietly learning from the mistakes of other manufacturers to perfect it before it hits the shelves.

The company has innovated a thin screen layer to minimize the visibility of a crease along the screen where it folds, and when unfolded, will be their thinnest model yet.
The hinge has also been engineered to support the device, with Apple stating: “The central structural plane has support ribs for added stiffness. To make the frame even more rigid, the antenna splits are reinforced with high performance inserts. They’re made from ceramic fibers that are three times stronger than grade five titanium. Together these structural details make iPhone Duo feel exceptionally solid every time you use it.”
The new iPhone Duo comes with a hefty price tag, with prices for the device starting at $1,999.
