The truth is revealed behind 'Phillies Karen' apology as her video goes viral on Facebook.

The past few months have brought a string of viral moments showing people making questionable decisions at sports matches, concerts and other public events.

Who is 'Phillies Karen'?

If you've missed the news over the past week, people on the internet have been trying to track down Phillies Karen.

The controversy began when Philadelphia Phillies player Harrison Bader hit a solo home run into the crowd during the game against the Miami Marlins.

Attending with his family, Drew Feltwell grabbed the ball from between two armrests to give to his son Lincoln, whose 10th birthday was approaching.

However, this didn't sit well with one woman who immediately confronted the man. Nicknamed 'Phillies Karen,' after the internet slang term for confrontational middle-aged women with a short haircut, the woman claimed the ball was hers.

Despite Feltwell's attempts to 'de-escalate' the situation, she persisted in demanding the ball.

Feltwell later told NBC 10 Philadelphia what happened during the confrontation: "I jumped out of my skin, and I was like, 'Why are you here? Go away,' and she's like, 'That's my ball, you stole it. Those are from our seats.' I was like, 'There was nobody in that seat'...

"She just went on and on. I don't even remember what she said. A lot of eyes on us by that time. The ball was already in his glove, and she just wouldn't stop."

Feltwell argued that the ball was between two armrests and wasn't picked up by her. Due to her being adamant about the ball, Feltwell eventually gave it away to her, which led to booing from bystanders and the woman being escorted out of the park after five minutes.

What post went viral?

Now, the Facebook page 'Meanwhile in Delco' has posted multiple claims about the woman's alleged responses to the backlash.

One post which claimed she said she couldn't leave her house due to harassment and being called 'Karen Ballsnatcher.' has received over 250,000 reactions and 100,000 comments.

"Phillies Karen makes public announcement. She claims she can't leave her house now without everyone booing at her no matter where she goes. She says everyone is treating her unfairly," one post stated with an AI-generated image of the lady.

Another post featured a slightly different AI-generated image, this time with the caption: "Breaking: Phillies Karen makes public statement, plans to leave the country and never come back. She claims everyone is treating her unfair."

The post came with several fake images showing the so-called 'Phillies Karen' in tears. The fact of the matter is that these AI-generated photos look convincingly real, however, no such apology video has been made and viewers should be aware of the false rumours circulating online.
