Many people's minds immediately went to aliens when they saw a strange tentacled 'creature' emerging from what they believed to be a meteorite from outer space, yet experts have finally revealed the truth surrounding the situation.

There remains such a strong appetite for evidence of alien life across the globe that some people travel all across the world to visit the most popular spots for UFO sightings in the hope of seeing an extraterrestrial of their own.

Countless reports of unidentified objects and strange alien-like materials are reported every single year, and it's never too long until the next claims of photographic evidence emerge — and they're usually always reviewed by Joe Rogan on his podcast.

Looking back in history you can see that a number of attempts have been made to fool people into thinking that aliens are real, and one expert believes that the latest viral claim is another one of these incidents.

What do people think is evidence of alien life?

As shared by Colombia One, a TikTok account known as 'kinpanama' has recently gone viral after sharing numerous videos of tentacles emerging from what they claim to be a meteorite that fell from the sky.

The series of videos began on September 5, with a clip showing where the small silver meteorite fell, and each subsequent update shows tentacles scarily growing out of the space rock.

It seems like they started to appear on September 7, with many in the comments of Kin's video expressing their fear that an alien invasion could be on the horizon.

The most popular video posted from the series has over 12 million views alone, and it shows the octopus-like tentacles moving on their own.

What is the truth behind this tentacled creature?

While it's impossible to know exactly what Kin has used to creature this 'creature', UFO researcher and filmmaker Mark Christopher Lee revealed to the Daily Mail that he's confident this is merely a hoax, with an easy-to-make Hollywood-style fake at the heart of it all.

"My first impression was that it is a B-movie kind of thing, using special effects," Lee explained after viewing Kin's TikTok videos. He added that the movement from the creature likely comes from the use of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), which is a silicone polymer.

He even claims that he's managed to speak to a friend of the TikTok creator, who alleges that Kin is "scared and needed help," with the suspicion being that this hoax has got out of hand as a consequence of the videos' popularity.

While Lee's assertion is probably the most likely explanation behind this particular alien claim, some in the comments of Kin's videos have suggested that he's using clathrus archeri, otherwise known as devil's fingers fungus, which does definitely look similar to the tentacles that have convinced so many people online.
