The eyes of the world were on President Donald Trump's first official State of the Union of his second term, with a record-breaking one-hour and 47-minute speech discussing everything from the situation in Iran to the gold medal-winning US hockey team.
There was much to talk about as Donald Trump honored the late Charlie Kirk, Texas' Al Greene was thrown out of the room, and Minnesota's Ilhan Omar branded the POTUS a 'liar'. It seems there's more of a political divide than ever, which was highlighted by Trump's 'stand up' movement, where Democrats notably refused to rise for the Commander-in-Chief.
The POTUS started the speech by saying, "Our nation is back: bigger, better, richer, and stronger than ever before,” although not everyone agrees.
At the same time as millions were tuning in for the State of the Union, Democrats were hosting a counter "State of the Swamp" speech. In the aftermath, President Trump has threatened to deport the Oscar-winning Robert De Niro
What is the State of the Swamp speech?
Starting an hour before the State of the Union and held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., State of the Swamp was promoted by a galaxy of stars and saw people attending in frog costumes. Among the big names on the poster were vocal Marvel star Mark Ruffalo and Don Lemon following his arrest for an anti-ICE protest, while Robert De Niro was the headliner.

The Taxi Driver and Raging Bull actor has already been a vocal critic of President Trump, but tearing up on Nicolle Wallace’s The Best People podcast, De Niro followed in the footsteps of Breaking Bad's Giancarlo Esposito calling for a revolution. De Niro added: "Trump is the enemy of this country, let’s not kid ourselves.
"It’s that simple. Everybody has to stick together to get them out and get back on track. We can all argue and fight about our little differences and all that. This is the big problem."
Telling people to "resist, resist, resist," the 82-year-old said: "We gotta get rid of this idiot. We’re in a state of lunacy."
This wouldn't be De Niro's first time slamming Trump, previously referring to him as a "total monster" to Bill Maher.
That same passion spilled over to his State of the Swamp Speech, as De Niro told the crowd: "I feel betrayed by my country. It doesn't have to be perfect, but it does need to return to the values that gave us our strength and humanity."
Whether Trump used to be a fan of De Niro's films or not, he's made his feelings on the matter clear. Claiming that the actor is another suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, the President took to Truth Social and vented about Omar and Michigan's Rashida Tlaib.

Saying that they should be sent "back from where they came" on a boat with the 'deranged' Robert De Niro, Trump ranted that the latter is "another sick and demented person with, I believe, an extremely Low IQ, who has absolutely no idea what he is doing or saying — some of which is seriously CRIMINAL!"
A vexed Trump continued: "When I watched him break down in tears last night, much like a child would do, I realized that he may be even sicker than Crazy Rosie O’Donnell, who is right now in Ireland trying to figure out how to come back into our beautiful United States."
He concluded that the only difference between De Niro and the outspoken O'Donnell is that "she is probably somewhat smarter than him, which isn’t saying much."
After delivering this threat to De Niro, Trump vowed that he's making America "bigger, better, richer, and stronger than ever before." With this, he remains adamant that it's making his critics 'crazy'.
