This wouldn't be the first time the Misery author has called out the POTUS

When it comes to the biggest authors of the 20th Century, few can hold a candle to the horrors of Stephen King. Known for giving us everything from The Shining to Carrie, Misery to It, you've likely heard of King's work thanks to the many adaptations (of varying quality) churned out by movie studios and streaming services.

The acclaimed author continues to pump out novels, but when he's not giving us nightmares, he's sharing his passionate political views online.

As a prominent liberal voice, King has previously butted heads with Elon Musk and vowed to leave X, although he's since returned and remains a staunch critic of President Donald Trump.

Having created some of the most iconic monsters in all of literature, Stephen King has regularly delivered his own burns on the POTUS, comparing him to the likes of H.P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu and the villainous Superman entity known as Bizarro.

In a 2018 interview answering reader questions in The Guardian, King was asked how he would write a novel based on Trump's America, concluding: "The bad ending would be that he gets a third term and takes things over completely. It’s a horror story either way. Trump is a horror story, isn’t he?"

The author has faced plenty of backlash for his views, and now, he's been accused of suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) after making another charged post about the president.

After Elon Musk slammed King for claims about Charlie Kirk, the author is facing another baptism of fire.

Taking to X, King wrote: "Trump: has never had a child. Has been married 3 times. Ran several businesses into the ground. Never ran a home, couldn’t make a bed to save his a*s. Calls people he works with dumb, losers, ect. Has never done sweat labor. Has never served on a local committee. [He] has no life experience."

There's an obvious problem with this, given that Trump has five children, ranging from Donald Jr. to Barron. This immediately landed on the radar of the controversial Libs of TikTok, which added: "Trump literally has 5 kids. What is this sh*t?"

It appears that King is doing a copypasta, critiquing a recent post that mocked Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The account 'Stacy is Right' describes itself as a MAGA, "happily married mother of three." On February 22, she shared a picture of AOC, writing: "Has never had a child. Has never been married. Has never ran a business. Has never run a home. Has never managed people.

“Has never held a professional job. Has never served on a local committee. Has no real life experience. Is a typical deadbeat socialist."

While King was ridiculing the OP, his post has critics claiming that he's come down with a case of TDS.

It seems the 'joke' went over some people's head, with one person writing: "You literally plagiarized an entire post…which was about AOC… and then applied it to Trump.

“For whom it isn’t true and doesn’t make any sense. Why are you plagiarizing? I thought you were a writer?"

Another added: "Trump Derangement Syndrome will make you completely disconnected from reality."

A third said: "Is there a 25th Amendment for taking peoples’ phones away?"

The story even made international news, and speaking on Sky News Australia, conservative political commentator Rita Panahi said: "This guy is just a bit of a weirdo, and this is becoming a habit. I don’t know what he’s trying to prove there."

Despite the backlash, we don't expect Stephen King to slow down with his commentary on the POTUS anytime soon.
