The Alien movies repeatedly told us, "In space, no one can hear you scream," but one pornographic giant once tried to prove this wasn't quite the case. Sci-fi-themed porn movies are nothing new, with Flesh Gordon, Sex Wars, and 2069: A Sex Odyssey being just some of the real-life pornos that have been made in this genre. There are numerous others with names we can't post here, but with Penetrator being a play on Predator, you get the general idea of how these work. We've got to give a special shout-out to E Three: The Extra Testicle as the best name we've seen.
That's just the thing, though, sex in space hasn’t happened yet – well, that's what we're told.
With SpaceX launching astronauts back to the Moon for the first time since 1972 as part of the Artemis II mission, there are all the usual questions about how things work up in space. We've already covered how the four-person crew has faced issues with a malfunctioning toilet, but what about knocking space boots up there?

Although it's apparently possible for humans to have sex in space, there's no actual evidence that it's been done. Still, as Elon Musk dials back his plans to colonize Mars, and the White House promises that the USA isn't leaving the Moon, the ongoing Artemis program might mean it happens sooner rather than later. We actually nearly got there years ago, with Pornhub reportedly trying to raise the funds to film a scene that would've put the G-spot in zero gravity.

There are worries that zero-g might make it impossible to conceive in space due to its effect on sperm, but as those who frequent 'the Hub' might know, that doesn't tend to be the point of these adult materials.
As reported by CNBC, Pornhub launched a successful Indiegogo campaign back in 2015. The pornography overlord wanted to raise $3.4 million to film Sexploration as the world's first porno made in space.
Teaming up with an adult entertainment studio called Digital Playground, Pornhub's movie was due to star adult film stars Johnny Sins and Eva Lovia. Anyone who donated $10 could look forward to an advanced viewing, while $20 would let you chat with the 'sextronauts', and the top tier of $150,000 means you'd be given the spacesuits worn by said sextronauts.
A note on the fundraiser read: "Once trained and certified, our team members will be entering space via a consumer space shuttle."
At the time, it was suggested that Virgin Galactic's $250,000 space travel was a viable option, although things didn't exactly pan out.
The emphasis here is on the was aspect, as despite a promising start, Sexploration finished a little too early and made $5,559 in its first 20 hours. Ultimately, Sexploration fell far short of its needed funding level and never blasted off, meaning it missed its planned 2016 release date and has been grounded at mission control ever since.

Even though all our sci-fi fantasies remain fantasies for now, we've been 'edged' with a space porno before. Back in 1999, a Swedish production and distribution company called Private Media Group released The Uranus Experiment. This was a three-part pornographic science fiction video that was partially filmed in zero-g in its second chapter. Despite lasting just 20 seconds and being filmed on a parabolic flight, Sylvia Saint and Nick Lang did the deed in zero gravity, while The Uranus Experiment went on to be nominated for Best Script at the 1999 Nebula Awards. This was from a group of disgruntled sci-fi authors complaining about the awarding body's policies, but in the end, M. Night Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense won.
As we continue to shoot for the stars (and other places), it feels like only a matter of time until someone films an actual space porno.
