There are some weird and wonderful conspiracy theories out there, but away from JFK's assassination, trying to prove that Bigfoot is real, and those who still don't think 1969's Apollo 11 Moon landing actually happened, the idea that aliens built the Great Pyramid of Giza is one of the most popular.
It's time to put on your tin foil hats because new footage from inside the pyramid has reignited the fires that little green men are responsible for its construction.
The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World are largely defunct in 2026, with the likes of the Colossus of Rhodes and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon sadly being no more.
Only the Great Pyramid of Giza remains, with it being one of the two wonders that once existed in Egypt.

Following the Lighthouse of Alexandria being fully dismantled in Egypt in 1480, the Great Pyramid of Giza stands as a monolith to this bygone era.

Serving as the tomb of Pharaoh Khufu, it's said that the Great Pyramid was constructed over a period of 26 years around 2600 BC.
Standing as the world's tallest manmade structure for some 3,800 years, the pyramid looks very different from what it did back in the day. Notably, its smooth white limestone casing has worn away over the years, giving the craggy rocks we see today.

There's been a recent rush of people giving us a look inside the Great Pyramid of Giza, with IShowSpeed being the first person to stream live from its confined chambers. Elsewhere, TikTok user ashleyyv26 has given us a rare glimpse of what it's like to go inside these days, with tourists squeezing past each other in tight corridors.
The OP says: "Holy sh*t, I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but I don't think this was it."
Although it was originally thought that slave labor was used to build the colossal monument to Khufu, more modern assessments suggest conscript labourers were used. Others claim it would've been impossible to excavate and move the 2.3 blocks used to create the pyramids, fuelling the fire that ancient aliens were responsible for it.
Responding to Ashley's video, one person said: "This confirms that humans did NOT build those pyramids. The hallways are not human-sized. Also, you mean to tell me they were roaming around in there with NO LIGHTS 5,000 years ago. No ma’am, something ain't right."

As for the idea that aliens built the pyramids, it's been fuelled by the fact that some archaeologists suggest they align with the stars on Orion's belt, while others note they've lasted much longer than other monuments that were constructed much later.

Speaking to History Extra, Egyptologist Professor Joyce Tyldesley blames pop culture for perpetuating the idea in the aftermath of H. G. Wells The War of the Worlds: "There’s one in particular in 1898, Edison’s Conquest of Mars [by American astronomer and writer Garrett P Serviss], which reveals that the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx are Martian constructions.
"It’s not supposed to be a serious book; it’s fiction. But this idea that someone from outside Earth might have visited Egypt and built the pyramids took hold.”
There's also Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods? Unsolved Mysteries of the Past from 1968, which made bank on the idea of ancient astronauts dropping in on Earth.
Ultimately, it's widely accepted that Egyptians used an advanced knowledge of geometry, cubit rods, and leveling tools...not E.T.'s tech.

Responding to the TikTok theory, someone concluded: "Another disagreed as they concluded: "It makes me so sad that unremarkable humans make it their life’s work to try and undermine the achievements of the best of humanity. The people that created these monuments deserve credit and you give it to unaccounted for aliens."
