Following the midterm elections yesterday (November 3), which resulted in a resounding victory for the Democrats, the White House has now broken its silence online.
All 435 seats of the House of Representatives were up for grabs, compared to the 35 of 100 seats in the Senate that were voted on, due to senators serving six-year terms.
In a historic vote, James Talarico became the first Democrat to win a Senate seat in Texas in 38 years as the party gained control of Congress yesterday.
President Donald Trump had been supporting Republican candidates at rallies, with the US leader claiming after the results that had his name been on the ballot, ‘we would have won in a landslide’.

However, the Republicans were not successful last night and now, the White House has broken its social media silence to share a short statement on the matter.

Posting an image of Trump on the official White House X page, the caption read: “PSA: Trump is still your president.”
The tweet went on to say: “Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
Trump and Musk react to US midterm election results
In another post published to Trump’s own platform Truth Social, the president wrote: “I’m going to become a Political Pundit, both good and bad, on the reasons these Candidates won and lost!”
Elon Musk has also publicly spoken out after the tech mogul had been a fierce supporter of Republican candidates, both vocally and financially.
The world’s richest man spent hundreds of millions of dollars supporting Republican political action committees (PACs) during the midterm election cycle but it has proved to be unsuccessful.
Reacting to the news, Musk tweeted: “Guess my election-interfering space lasers didn’t work this time.”
In a further post, he said: “Data centers in space looking pretty appealing right now.”
What do the midterm election results mean for President Trump?

This election result could be bad news for the likes of Trump and Musk after Democratic lawmakers indicated that they want to scrutinize Trump’s administration as well as Musk’s role in the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
This includes analyzing how decisions were made to slash federal spending, reduce government jobs and review public contracts.
Democrats are also expected to use their committee majorities and subpoena powers to scrutinize everything from Trump’s business interests and government spending to immigration enforcement and the administration’s handling of the Epstein files.
