We know that President Donald Trump is a big fan of cryptocurrency, pulling something of a U-turn on what he once branded a 'scam' against the dollar. He memorably became the first president to buy something with Bitcoin, chowing down on a burger during his 2024 campaign and being the first presidential campaign to officially accept donations via the Bitcoin Lightning Network.
Donald Trump's crypto craze has continued into his second term, with him releasing his $TRUMP meme coin and apparently making $1 billion from cryptocurrency in his first year back in office.
Vowing to make America the "crypto capital of the planet," the POTUS used his wave of inauguration executive orders to establish the President's Council of Advisors for Digital Assets. Known colloquially as the White House Crypto Council, Trump appointed venture capitalist David Sacks as the 'Crypto and AI Czar' until his 130-day special government assignment came to an end in March 2026.
Now, a leaked White House salary report has revealed what two of the Crypto Council's top names got paid for 2026.
What did Donald Trump's Crypto Council get paid in 2026?

In the leaked PDF, we see that Harry Jung got paid an impressive $197,200 as Deputy Director of the Presidential Council of Advisors for Digital Assets. He was also joined by Patrick Witt, getting paid $195,200 as Executive Director of the Presidential Council of Advisors for Digital Assets.
It sounds like a lot of money, but there's more to the story.
Congressional candidate Bo Hines left the Crypto Council in August 2025 to head up US operations for the stablecoin giant known as Tether. This was followed by Jung's exit in July 2026, and a final blow came in the form of Witt stepping away in October 2026 when his government detail expired and he returned to duty with the National Guard.
This means that the President's Council of Advisors for Digital Assets currently sits empty, coinciding with the failure of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, which was a proposed legislation that wanted to create a federal framework and 'rulebook' for the wider market.
What did President Trump's other staff get paid in 2026?

Jung is listed alongside the likes of senior policy advisor Gary Barnett, National Energy Dominance Council deputy director Blake Deeley, and Anti-Fraud Taskforce executive director Scott Brady, with nine earning the top salary of $197,200. Still, it's important to note that all of these are listed as detailees or part-time detailees instead of regular White House employees.
In terms of the regular White House staffers on top whack, former Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller all sit at the top with $195,200.
On the other end of the spectrum, Marco Rubio earns zero for his role as White House National Security Advisor. Don't feel too sorry for him because he already receives a salary as Secretary of State. It's the same for Steven Witkoff as Trump's Special Envoy for Peace Mission.
The difference is that Witkoff is a wealthy real estate developer who reportedly chose to serve without a salary.
There's an actual lowest salary, with the likes of Dominique Dansky Bari being paid $59,661 for her role as a stenographer.
While Trump's Crypto Council was up and running, it sounds like it was a pretty sweet gig for the likes of Jung.
