Tensions are pretty high right now in the United States of America, with a 'blue tsunami' sweeping across the country and the Republican Party simultaneously losing control of both the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate.
The Democrats are giving themselves a massive pat on the back right now, while New York City's Mayor Zohran Mamdani is presumably cheering his own little win after he managed to ratio Vice President J.D. Vance like we've never seen before.
Donald Trump is the first sitting president since George W. Bush in 2006 to lose unified control of the House and the Senate in a single midterm cycle, while it's the Republican Party's worst defeat in over 50 years, as it's compared to the post-Watergate election collapse in 1974.

With President Trump launching into damage control, there have already been cross words between him and media ally, Fox News. Although there are questions about what's next for the Republican Party, some are acting like it's business as usual.
Ahead of the historic midterm vote, Vice President J.D. Vance took to X to wave the elephant flag for the Grand Old Party and praised the current administration for delivering sweeping changes for New York.
Saying, "We've got your back, New York," Vance's graphic took credit for NYC's apparent lowest crime rates ever, securing 337,000 jobs, halting the 'flow of illegal aliens', investing over $472 billion into the state, and more.
The community note called these claims into question, as Vance was brutally roasted by a clapback that said several of the figures aren't NY-specific, and others are entirely incorrect.
Of course, this was nothing compared to Mamdani's own burn.
Sharing a nine-second video, the NYC mayor mocked all of the above with a clip of a social media personality, Ollyybee, wearing a high-vis vest and pretending to stop a subway train before ushering passengers aboard.
The implication is that the Trump administration is taking credit where credit isn't due.
Whereas Vance's original post got 9.9K likes, Mamdani's racked up over two million, and one person called it "the most brutal ratio in the history of this site."
Vance was launched at across the internet, as someone else wrote: "We are in the Golden Age of Millennial humored politicians…finally we have arrived folks."
Another added: "This is probably the fastest growing tweet I’ve ever seen 😭😭😭."

Those two million likes continue to climb, which is pushing Mamdani's post into the upper echelon of 'most-liked' posts of all time on X (formerly Twitter).
The 29th most-liked post on X earned 2.5 million, and is Joe Biden's first after he defeated Trump in the 2020 presidential election.
As Mamdani's gains more traction, it's sure to climb the rankings, although it's still some way off the most-liked of all time.
That (unfortunate) honor goes to an August 2020 post, announcing the death of Chadwick Boseman, and earning 6.6 million likes.
Second place is Elon Musk jokingly announcing he was going to buy Coca-Cola just days after his $4.4 billion acquisition of Twitter (4.3 million), while third is Barack Obama quoting Nelson Mandela's autobiography in the aftermath of the Charlottesville attack (3.6 million likes).
Considering there's been something of a mass exodus from X since Musk's purchase went through in 2022, Mamdani's post getting this much attention is impressive.
Working out whether Mamdani's post really is the most brutal ratio of all time, because, as Grok reminds us, there's no official metric tracking them. Still, it's a ratio of truly epic proportions.
