Elon Musk urges release of Epstein files in ominous one-word tweet just weeks after 'exposing' Trump's involvement

He later admitted he went 'too far' with his posts

There's further fallout from one of Elon Musk's X rants, with the world's richest man never afraid to tell his 221.7 million followers (and the rest of the world) exactly what he thinks.

More recently, Elon Musk has been focused on a mix of promoting his self-driving Tesla robotaxis and attacking Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill Act, but rumbling in the background are his unsubstantiated claims about the POTUS.

In the aftermath of Elon Musk leaving the Department of Government Efficiency and vowing to put his efforts back into his other ventures, he went on something of a rant where he claimed he'd pull his SpaceX Dragon rockets from service, called for Donald Trump to be impeached, and alleged that the President is named in the Epstein files.

Musk has since walked back some of his tirade, and after Trump said he'd 'lost his mind', the tech billionaire admitted he went 'too far' with what he said.

Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were said to be social acquaintances and photographed together, and although he was subpoenaed during Epstein’s legal proceedings, he hasn't been linked to any criminal activity.

Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre also stated: "Trump didn’t partake in any sex with any of us and never flirted with me."

Although Ivanka Trump was named in the Epstein files, Donald Trump didn't appear in the ones already released. Musk claims the full list of names is being held back, calling for a wide release.

On July 2, MAGA activist Scott Presler took to X and simply wrote: "Release the unredacted Epstein files."

The ever-online Musk replied with a one-word: "Yes."

It's important to note that he doesn't mention President Trump, although the replies to Musk's response were filled with others mentioning him.

Other replies included people saying that Trump has asked for them to be released, while someone else said: "Dump the Trump Twitter logs. You know you have them. Let’s see his DMs."

Another added: "How about you just say what you wanted to say last month instead of being a coward?"

Someone else concluded: "I don't always agree with Elon, but the files should be released in their entirety, unredacted."

As for the current state of the Epstein files, 100 pages of declassified documents related to the shamed financier were released by Attorney General Pam Bondi as part of the Trump administration's promise of transparency.

There was also the publication of Epstein's 'black book', but as the New York Times noted, some of those featured had never met Epstein, so they shouldn't be implicated.

Bondi was critical of FBI head Kash Patel, arguing the bureau is holding back more information as she called for 'an immediate investigation' into why she only got some of the files.

More than this, there are questions about whether the so-called 'Epstein client list' actually exists. Despite calls from Musk for the Epstein files to be released in their entirety, the truth is that we might never get the full story.
