One of the most powerful men in the world of AI has just been forced to resign, as a member of OpenAI's board of directors was revealed to have a close relationship with convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
There's no doubt that the drip-fed release of documents relating to Jeffrey Epstein will lead to a lot of high-level resignations, as many have speculated that the former financier turned child sex trafficker is connected to a lot of notable individuals.
Names like Bill Gates, Donald Trump, and even Elon Musk – due to his apparent connection to Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell – have been alleged to have some form of involvement, although that remains entirely speculation, but the release of new emails sent by Epstein, Maxwell, and author Michael Woolf appear to have already had an effect on some high-ranking individuals.
The primary focus of these emails, released by House Democrats via the House Oversight Committee, was President Trump who according to Epstein 'spent hours' with one of the trafficking victims and 'knew about the girls', but another name has been caught in the headlights.

As reported by Futurism, current OpenAI board member and former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers has now been forced to resign from his role at the company that created ChatGPT, as his association with the child sex offender was revealed.

"In line with my announcement to step away from my public commitments, I have also decided to resign from the board of OpenAI," Summers announced in a new statement, adding that he is "grateful for the opportunity to have served, excited about the potential of the company and look forward to following their progress."
OpenAI also confirmed the resignation in a statement to Axios, adding that the AI company appreciates "his many contributions and the perspective he brought to the Board."
As to the nature of Summers' involvement with Epstein, the financier described himself in a 2018 email as the former's 'wing man', which was particularly worrying considering discussions the pair were having over Summers' pursuit of a relationship with a student while he was teaching at Harvard.
He was mentoring the student in question, with Epstein remarking that "she is doomed to be with you" despite Summers' reservation that she seemingly valued his professional abilities over anything romantic.

Summers told Epstein that "she must be very confused or maybe wants to cut me off but wants professional connection a lot and so hold to it," to which Epstein replied that she was "beginning to sound needy," adding that this was "nice."
Speaking to student newspaper the Harvard Crimson, Summers illustrated: "I have great regrets in my life. As I have said before, my association with Jeffrey Epstein was a major error of judgement."
Now that the House and Senate has passed the Epstein Transparency Act, it might not be too long until further connections are revealed, leaving a number of other important figures in jeopardy for their past actions.
