One YouTuber who is currently being sued by Apple has broken his silence by releasing a new video on the iPhone 17, revealing stunning mockups for a device that Apple technically hasn't even confirmed exists yet.

Being arguably the biggest tech company in the world it's an inevitability in the age of social media that most of Apple's yearly released get leaked in some capacity.

The tech world was left stunned in 2010 when one college student leaked the iPhone 4 leading to a major legal case, yet you could head onto X or Instagram at any point in the year now and find some form of insider information regarding the next iPhone, Macbook, or iOS version.

Yet YouTuber John Prosser found out the hard way what line Apple is willing to cross when it comes to pursuing action against leakers though, yet despite being involved in an ongoing legal battle with the tech giant, he has now released a new video focusing on the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 17.

Why is John Prosser being sued by Apple?

As reported by 9to5Mac, John Prosser – the man behind YouTube channel fpt. (front page tech) – is currently in the process of a legal battle with Apple in the Northern District of California, as the tech company has accused him of misappropriating trade secrets and violating the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.

It all boils down to a number of leaks that Prosser had shared regarding the (at the time) unreleased iOS 19 update, which would eventually be revealed as iOS 26.

He had shared work in progress versions of the Camera app reconstruction, and several videos surrounding what would become Liquid Glass — Apple's translucent visual overhaul meant to mimic the feeling of augmented reality.

The issue began when Apple were tipped off about Prosser's sources, as it was revealed that he got the information from fellow defendant Michael Ramacciotti, who had broken into the Development iPhone of Apple employee Ethan Lipnik, who was staying at his house at the time.

Apple accused Prosser of stealing and profiting from its confidential information, requesting that he pay damages based on a number of different 'malicious misappropriations'.

What is Prosser's new video on the iPhone 17?

Prosser seemingly isn't too concerned with Apple's legal threats though, as he has now released his first video since the lawsuit, focusing on leaks veiled by 'speculation' surrounding the iPhone 17 Pro, as per 9to5Mac.

This is made clear by a hilarious disclaimer around 50 seconds into the video, where Prosser makes it clear that what he is sharing is wholly speculative, adding below: "Don't sue me or anything lol."

What's clear is that the information shared by Prosser throughout the video is based on the numerous leaks we have already had surrounding the upcoming iPhone, albeit sourced and shared initially by others.

These include the enhanced camera bump – which could make space for a larger sensor or enhanced lens technology – alongside the new camera lens caps, which hint towards a bold new colorway for the Pro version.

"Ain't no lawsuit stopping this guy," writes the top comment underneath Prosser's video, whereas another comments on his "absolute balls of steel" to release the video amid his legal fight with Apple.
