The latest leaks and rumors for Apple's next flagship iPhone have revealed the potential for a bold new color, as the 17 Pro Max will give buyers the chance to add a little fire into their lives.

Everyone knows by this point that Apple likes to reveal its latest iPhone models in September, following on from the latest software showings at the WWDC event in June.

We're expecting a number of major new additions and changes to be announced when everything is shown off, including rumors of a foldable phone for the first time in Apple's history, but one new leak appears to point towards an underrated fresh feature.

Apple has introduced a number of exciting colors over the past few years after a period of more straightforward options outside of the iconic (PRODUCT)RED range, but one new option for the iPhone 17 Pro Max could venture into unknown territory.

What is the new color for the iPhone 17 Pro Max?

As reported by Tom's Guide, renowned Apple insider Sonny Dickson has revealed a number of lens protection covers for the iPhone 17 lineup in a new post on X, and it coincidentally appears to confirm that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be getting an 'orange' color option.

These camera protectors will be an option for anyone who is wanting to take extra care of their exterior lenses, especially in the age of social media content creation, as it will stop any scratches, smudges, or dirt from touching the glass directly.

In order to make them blend in, all of the lens protection covers have a color coordinated rim to match with the corresponding colorway of the device, and the existance of an orange version makes it clear the Pro Max is getting a new look this year.

This would mark the first time that Apple has officially produced an orange iPhone model across the phone's near two decade lifespan, so anyone who has that as their favorite color will likely breathe a sigh of relief.

It's difficult to properly tell exactly what shade of orange this would be from the lens protection cover alone, but it does appear to lean more toward the 'burnt' or even copper side of things, as opposed to a more neon variant.

What other iPhone 17 colors have been confirmed?

Thankfully the lens protection covers give us the full selection of colors for every upcoming iPhone model, and each one has unique options that might inform your decision making process.

For the standard iPhone 17 (and likely 17 Max too) there are six colours, giving buyers the choice between black, gray, silver, light blue, light green, and light purple. This is slightly different from the current iPhone 16 options, adding in gray, silver, and light blue while removing the plain white and pink.

There are just four colour options for the stripped-back iPhone 17 Air, giving people the choice between black, silver, blue gray, and light gold - but the last one will likely be a welcome return for all gold lovers out there.

Finally, joining the aforementioned orange for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max lineup are black, gray, silver, and dark blue options - all of which will no doubt look very professional and sleek on Apple's best (and most expensive) device.
