We all know that the new iPhone is just around the corner, and hype levels have reached the point where some are convinced that the latest Apple event logo is a major hint towards the upcoming device's design.

There have been a number of key leaks surrounding the upcoming iPhone 17 launch over the past few months, and one YouTuber has even been brave enough to share them despite being in the middle of a lawsuit with Apple.

However, the time is nearly here, and we're now just a few days away from the event that will almost definitely officially reveal the iPhone 17 to the world with all of its bells and whistles.

There's still plenty of time for speculation before we get to see the real thing though, and some fans are now convinced that the special 'thermal' logo for the upcoming event is everything we need to visualize a major new design feature.

As reported by the Sun, iPhone owners on Reddit have observed the rather peculiar logo on the official Apple Event announcement which is scheduled to take place on September 9.

The logo itself features a distinctly 'thermal' look where aspects of the famous apple are distinguished between cold blues and hot oranges, and you can even interact with it to create various 'hot spots' with your finger.

While this could simply be a cool design element that Apple has chosen to advertise the upcoming event, many people think there's more to it than meets the eye, including some rather wild theories.

The post itself perhaps jokingly suggests that a thermal camera could be included in the iPhone 17, which is perhaps a bit too far fetched even for Apple's standards, yet two rather promising ideas have emerged in the comments.

The upcoming device has long been rumored to include what's known as a 'vapor chamber' cooling system, as reported by TechRadar, which will help draw heat away from the Pro model's vital components to ensure top performance.

This theory certainly makes sense, as the thermal theming would perfectly show how the new cooling dissipates heat and stops areas like the CPU and RAM from reaching those red-hot readings.

However, another more than viable suggestion is that it's also a sign of two new color options that will become available with the iPhone 17 — one of which has seemingly already been confirmed by leaked lens covers.

"Given Apple's history I think it's unlikely they'll put something so niche on the iPhone," writes one commenter in reference to the inclusion of a thermal camera. "The orange and blue most likely alludes to the two new colors on the Pro models."

Another has pessimistically added that "you're getting a 16 Pro with a new paint job and you're going to like it," but there's definitely plenty of people that would upgrade solely for the ability to have a shiny new look.
