A contestant on the latest season of Netflix's Love Is Blind had to leave the show this week after a medical emergency left her fearing for her sight.
Season 10 of the hit reality dating show Love Is Blind premiered on Netflix yesterday (11 February), just days before Valentine's Day.
This season brings together 32 singles ranging from 28 to 38 years old, delivering the romance, deep emotional connections and unexpected sparks that the show's fans know and love. However, the premiere took an unexpected and frightening turn for one contestant.
ICU nurse Elissa Finley found herself in her own medical emergency after using what she thought were eye drops.

Speaking to Tudum, she said: “I was midway through one of the days when I’d gone on four dates, and there was a break.
“I went into the dressing room, and I just saw a little bottle on the table that looked like eye drops that we use in the hospital.” But they weren't eye drops at all. What she put in her eye was, in fact, nail glue.
“I put it in my eye, and I was like, ‘Holy crap. That is thick,’” she described.
During the final seconds of the first episode, Elissa was shown running into the women's lounge screaming: "Oh my god! What do I do? F***!" as her co-stars watched with shock.
Returning in the second episode, Elissa explained her incident to the other women. “I was scared,” she noted. “I thought I was gonna lose sight. Nail glue, what?!”
Once at the hospital, doctors put her on an IV drip and began the painful process of irrigating her eye to remove the adhesive.

“The guy was getting the glue out. It was so awful,” she said. “I had to sit there with a bag of saline, just flushing my eye. I got the glue out, and then I saved my lashes, thankfully.”
She continued: “I held my eye open because if you shut it, and you got glue, you’re going to pull off your skin."
Thankfully, the contact lens she'd been wearing acted as a barrier, which, she said, ended up 'saving' her eyeball.
Even though her eye was still painful following the emergency treatment, Elissa didn't let it stop her from returning to the pods. Wearing an eyepatch, she even made light of her dedication to finding love despite her compromised vision.
“Love is half blind,” one of her fellow contestants joked. “You’re really committing.”
The first six episodes of Love Is Blind Season 10 is now streaming on Netflix.
