A major YouTuber has been arrested after authorities reportedly traced his IP address to a social media account that included a series of disturbing sexual images involving minors. There has been plenty of controversy involving YouTube stars in recent times, but away from Vitaly Zdorovetskiy facing an unknown stint behind bars for his 'pranks', or Finny Da Legend being shot while streaming live, this is one of the most shocking.
Having amassed nearly half a million subscribers on his YouTube, 50,000 on his Instagram, and 69,000 on TikTok, Michael David “Mr Crafty Pants” Booth was known for his craft tutorials, as well as his Crafty Cruise and Craftmas Crate Mystery Box. Up until just days ago, Booth had been posting on social media, but as WAVE News reports, he's since been arrested in Kentucky. Police claim that Booth had been sharing 'disturbing' images on the social media app, Kik.

An account that's been linked to Booth was flagged by Kik in August 2025, with authorities launching an investigation. It's alleged that Booth possessed three explicit photos of children under the age of 12, with three more involving teenagers.
The arrest report maintains that these images were shared more than 15 times with other Kik users between August 4 and August 7.
A search warrant of Booth's Kik is said to include two 'selfie-type' photos of him that allegedly confirm he's behind the account. A subpoena for the IP address that was used to distribute these images also led to his home address in Prospect, Louisville.
Booth was said to be well-known in the neighborhood, especially due to his 'family-friendly' content online. Although his Instagram remains active, it looks like his main Mr Crafty Pants YouTube account has been removed.

With the locals shaken, neighbor Laura Nash told WDRB: "My heart dropped. Felt sick to my stomach. It was gut-wrenching and eye-opening.”
Lindsay Smart flagged a Halloween sign in Booth's yard that reportedly read, "I smell children."
She explained: "You feel like you know your neighbors, but what goes on behind closed doors…I guess we never know.

"It’s sickening, it’s disgusting, and I’m so glad he got caught.”
Booth has since been charged with at least 20 counts of distributing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor, appearing in Jefferson County District Court, and being set a bond of $100,000 full cash. A judge ordered that he can't have any contact with minors, as well as no internet access or use of social media.
Footage showed Booth in an orange jumpsuit speaking to officers, with him due back in court this week.
He's entered a plea of not guilty on all charges. Booth remains in custody at Metro Corrections, as authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
