Elon Musk is perhaps more known for those he's fallen out with rather than his strong relationships, and that tension has led to some rather iconic moments, including a response from his estranged daughter after the billionaire claimed that she was 'dead'.
Following an admittedly tumultuous short-term position adjacent to the Trump administration, Elon Musk's far-right politics have never been clearer, to the point where he has even started his own political party in the wake of his public spat with the president.
While he wasn't always as politically extreme as he is now, to the point where he was once a registered Democrat, Musk's reaction to his now-estranged daughter's transition appears to be one of the early signs of his move to the right.
What did Musk say about his estranged daughter?
Vivian Jenna Wilson, Musk's oldest child, didn't have a great relationship with her father in her teenage years, and reportedly hadn't spoken to him for months at the point at which she came out as transgender.

Musk then went on to claim that he had 'lost' his child to the 'woke mind virus' β indicating that it was so-called 'woke' left wing politics that caused Vivian to transition despite the billionaire's alleged use of IVF to ensure that she was born male.
Replying to a post on X detailing Vivian's thoughts on Donald Trump's election victory last November, Musk claimed that "the woke mind virus killed" his child, adding to earlier comments made to Jordan Peterson that "the reason it's called deadnaming is because the son is dead."
How did Vivian respond to Musk's comments?
Vivian Wilson is certainly no stranger to returning any punches thrown at her from Musk's direction, issuing 'savage' responses to news of his 14th child and brutal take downs of his gaming ability, yet her response to claims that she was 'dead' definitely take the cake.

As reported by Indy100, Vivian hit back against Musk's comments on Threads, writing:
"Sure, Jan. Whatever you say. I'm legally recognised as a woman in the state of California and I don't concern myself with the opinion of those who are below me."
Following this, she also posted a video to her TikTok account where she accompanied a screenshot of Musk's post with her lip syncing the words "I look pretty good for a dead b****," adding "And you don't" in the caption in relation to her estranged dad.

She has also revealed her immediate reaction to Musk's comments on an episode of the Give It To Me Straight podcast, explaining:
"I woke up, cause I was in Tokyo, and I look at my phone and I'm like 'wow... wow...', and then I went to the convenience store and I got a gin and tonic. Then I played Smash Bros.
"I actually got really got at Smash Bros that day, because to distract myself, I was very drunk β don't do that, not a good coping mechanism. It was just like, I woke up one day and it was like, 'oh there it is'."

Despite the clear split between the pair, Vivian has still had to deal with comments and accusations from people who claim that she is being financially supported by Musk, revealing that she has had absolutely nothing from the billionaire since turning 18.
"To set the record absolutely straight, no, I do not have a trust fund or inheritance or some bulls***, I had my health insurance and my cell plan cut off at the age of like 18," she explained on her TikTok.
Musk still had to sign off and provide permission for her to start the medical transition process, which involved the use of puberty blockers, but she has indicated that she "can't tell the story about how that happened."
