People have been left mindblown after realizing that January 1st just landed on 1/1/1 for the first time in years.
It’s officially the New Year after we celebrated the end of 2025 last night (December 31), but it turns out that this year has gotten off to a particularly special and rare start.
While many of us may be beginning our New Year’s resolutions, some believe that this could be a powerful time of year to begin manifesting for the future.
January 1st 2026 is considered to be the ‘1/1 Manifestation Portal’ as it is believed to be a particularly magical opportunity.

While the date is technically 1/1/26, speaking in terms of numerology, it is actually the rare alignment of 1/1/1. Here is how it works.
By adding all of the numbers in 2026 together, it gives us 10 because 2+0+2+6=10.
Then, we add those numbers together, so 1+0=1, which leaves us with one or 1/1/1 - a triple-one sequence for the month, day, and year. Make sense yet?
This specific phenomenon signals the start of a new nine-year numerological cycle, which is an event that last occurred in 2017 and will not happen again until 2035.
Those of us who are spiritual and believe in manifestation also see this day as a very powerful one as it's a ‘portal day’, according to Medium.
The website describes it as ‘a cosmic reset so potent that what you set in motion on this day will ripple through the entire decade ahead’.
Medium explains that in numerology, portal days occur when the numbers in dates align in significant patterns, creating a ‘cosmic gateway’ or ‘a moment when the energetic field is more receptive, more malleable, more responsive to intention’.
The publication adds: “Think of it like this: every day has a baseline level of manifestation potential. But portal days? They’re like the universe turning up the volume. Your intentions land harder. Your energy moves faster. The gap between thought and manifestation narrows.”
In simple terms, if you manifest on this day, it's more likely to come true, or so people say.
