It's the televisual event of the year, and as millions tune in every year to watch the Super Bowl, the eyes of the world are on the superstar sporting event.
Of course, the actual game comes second for many, with trailers and halftime performances often grabbing most of the conversation.
Then again, with the Super Bowl being a record-breaker in terms of viewing figures, is it any surprise companies are spending $10 millon on a 30-second ad?
Even before the Seattle Seahawks bested the New England Patriots, there was controversy surrounding Bad Bunny's role as the headline act for the Super Bowl LX halftime. Being critical of both Donald Trump and ICE, the President of the United States referred to Bad Bunny's appearance as 'absolutely ridiculous'.

Bad Bunny's halftime show projected a message that read, "The only thing more powerful than hate is love," making history as the first musician to perform entirely in Spanish at a Super Bowl.
The POTUS has since gone on to slam the show as 'terrible', saying, "One of the worst, EVER!" Even though he wasn't in attendance at Levi's Stadium, this would suggest that President Trump tuned in to the official halftime instead of Turning Point USA's alternative version.

He's been slammed by Trump, the likes of Jake Paul, and numerous other right-wing voices, whereas TPUSA promised an 'all-American' show.
As well as TPUSA's halftime being mocked for Kid Rock's apparent lip-sync fail, the 55-year-old has been called out after a series of controversial lyrics resurfaced.
Some branded Bad Bunny's Super Bowl performance as 'pure degeneracy', translating words from songs like "Safaera" and "Tití Me Preguntó" with references to sexual acts and genital size.
Over on TikTok, the Toronto-based Rev. Gerlyn Henry called out Kid Rock's own lyrics, with particular reference to "Cool, Daddy Cool." Joking that she'd boycott Bad Bunny, over his song, she then reminded us of the words Kid Rock and Joe C. wrote for "Cool, Daddy Cool".
Henry isn't alone in her issue with Kid Rock headlining TPUSA's halftime, especially as "Cool, Daddy Cool" includes the following lyrics: "Young ladies, young ladies, I like 'em underage. Some say that's statutory (But I say it's mandatory) / My story ain't that complex, two forties and a Rolex / I rip, I rock, I roll, G, I trim my hair with the Flowbee."
Weirdly, "Cool, Daddy Cool" appeared on the soundtrack for the Chris Rock-led Osmosis Jones, which is a movie definitely aimed at kids.
In a February 2026 statement, Kid Rock said: "We plan to play great songs for folks who love America. We’re approaching this show like David and Goliath. Competing with the pro football machine and a global pop superstar is almost impossible... or is it?”
With this, it's no surprise to some that "Cool, Daddy Cool" wasn't part of his TPUSA repertoire.
Kid Rock hasn't directly addressed the "Cool, Daddy Cool" controversy, although he took to Instagram to post a Kobe Bryant quote about learning to love hate.
Mocking the situation on X, one person wrote: "Fun Fact: Kid Rock once literally sang 'I like ’em underage' — including on a song tied to a kids’ movie soundtrack — but MAGA is upset about Bad Bunny because he speaks Spanish. The TPUSA halftime show is for people who defend p*dos."
Another added: "With all of the Christian music on the radio today, the best TPUSA could get to headline their alternative to the Super Bowl Halftime show was Kid Rock with his disgusting lyrics about liking underage girls. What the hell is this world coming to?"
A third said: "It’s a good bet none of them actually listen to Kid Rock’s music. Otherwise, they’d know the lyrics to his song, 'Cool, Daddy, Cool'. Also highly doubt that they even listen to that type of music. They only like Kid Rock because he supports Trump and his song has his name in it."
