Harvard scientist claims this mathematical formula proves the existence of God

A creator-proving equation

While it’s easy to think scientific professionals would try to disprove the claims of religious beliefs, a Harvard scientist has claimed that a mathematical formula could actually prove the existence of God.

Such a claim comes from Dr. Willie Soon, an astrophysicist and aerospace engineer who recently spoke on the episode of the Tucker Carlson Encounter linked below. In the YouTube video, he discussed how a groundbreaking equation from 1928 points to intentional design in the universe.

The theory in question revolves around the prediction of antimatter by famed physicist Paul Dirac. Dr. Soon referred to what’s called the 'fine-tuning argument’. It suggests that the universe’s physical laws are so precise that life could not have emerged by random chance. According to this view, the conditions that allow life to exist are too perfectly balanced to be accidental.

After the Big Bang, both matter and antimatter should have formed in equal amounts. However, there is significantly less antimatter in the universe than expected.

Since antimatter has the opposite charge of matter, equal quantities would have canceled each other out, leaving no matter to form stars, planets, or life. Dr. Soon argues that this imbalance is not random, but rather a sign of deliberate design.

He also highlighted how certain breakthroughs in physics appear to uncover truths about reality before they are even confirmed by experimentation. One such example is Dirac’s 1928 equation, which at the time broke the known laws of physics but later turned out to be true.

Dirac, who is now known as the 'father of antimatter,' stumbled upon its existence while trying to solve problems related to the speed of subatomic particles.

Scientists had already developed equations to describe slow-moving electrons, but high-speed particles remained a mystery.

Dirac attempted to merge Albert Einstein’s famous E=mc² equation with Schrödinger’s equation, which predicts the likelihood of finding a particle in a given place at a specific time. His initial calculations didn’t quite work, so he introduced an additional type of electron with negative energy.

This unexpected addition baffled the scientific community, as no one understood its significance at the time. On the other hand, the equation was so simple and elegant that Dirac was convinced it must be correct.

Just a few years later, in 1932, the existence of antimatter was confirmed when cosmic ray observations detected the first antimatter particles.

Dirac’s work laid the foundation for an entire branch of physics known as quantum field theory, which combines the principles of quantum mechanics with Einstein’s theory of relativity.

In 1963, Dirac made a profound statement about the nature of the universe, suggesting that the beauty of mathematical laws hints at a higher intelligence.

Dirac, wrote: “It seems to be one of the fundamental features of nature that fundamental physical laws are described in terms of mathematical theory of great beauty and power, needing quite a high standard of mathematics for one to understand it”.

“One could perhaps describe the situation by saying that God is a mathematician of a very high order, and He used very advanced mathematics in constructing the universe”, he added.

Dr. Soon’s argument aligns with similar claims made by scholars such as Richard Swinburne and Robin Collins, who have cited the strength of gravity, the proton-to-electron mass ratio, and the cosmological constant as evidence for the fine-tuning argument.

According to them, if these values were even slightly different, the universe would not be capable of sustaining life.

This age-old debate between science and religion continues to spark controversy, but if Dr. Soon’s claims hold any weight, then mathematics might just be the ultimate proof of a divine creator.
