Tyler Robinson’s mother has made a shocking admission in official Charlie Kirk murder court documents.
This comes after Robinson’s first court appearance yesterday, where he appeared virtually from Utah County Jail, which is where he is currently being held.
During the hearing, prosecutors revealed that they will be seeking the death penalty in this case.
In new documents, it was revealed that his mother had told police that she had seen a ‘photo of the shooter in the news and thought the shooter looked like her son’.

As a result, she called Robinson and asked him where he was, to which he said that ‘he was at home sick and that he had also been at home sick on September 10th’, which was the date of the shooting.
After speaking to her husband, Robinson’s father agreed that the footage of the shooter did look like their son.
She went on to explain to police that over the past year, Robinson had ‘become more political and had started to lean more to the left - becoming more pro-gay and trans-rights orientated’.

The documents go on to detail: “She stated that Robinson began to date his roommate, a biological male who was transitioning genders. This resulted in several discussions with family members, but especially between Robinson and his father, who have very different political views.
“In one conversation before the shooting, Robinson mentioned that Charlie Kirk would be holding an event at UVU, which Robinson said was a ‘stupid venue’ for the event. Robinson accused Kirk of spreading hate.”
Documents detail how Robinson’s parents, along with a family friend, convinced the 22 year old to turn himself in.
New information involving text messages between Robinson and his roommate has also been revealed.

In one message, Robinson reportedly said: “Drop what you are doing, look under my keyboard.”
A note then read: “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I'm going to take it,” according to documents.
The roommate replied: “What?????????????? You're joking, right????”

In another exchange, Robinson wrote: “I am still ok my love, but am stuck in Orem for a little while longer yet. Shouldn’t be long until I can come home, but I gotta grab my rifle still. To be honest I had hoped to keep this secret till I died of old age. I am sorry to involve you.”
The roommate responded with: “You weren’t the one who did it right????”
Robinson replied: “I am, I’m sorry.”
The roommate said: “I thought they caught the person?”

Robinson said: “No, they grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing. I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. It’s quiet, almost enough to get out, but there’s one vehicle lingering.”
When the roommate asked Robinson why he had done it, the 22 year old wrote: “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”
