Elon Musk might just have made himself an enemy of the Catholic church, as Pope Leo has spoken out against the richest man in the world during his shocking first media interview.
One thing that has been made clear during Pope Leo's time short time as head of the Catholic church is his interest in technology, as he has not only vowed to be active on social media but also recently canonized the first 'millennial saint', calling him 'God's influencer'.
He has also expressed his concerns about emerging technologies too, offering a chilling warning about artificial intelligence and how it threatens the future of humanity, and now he has also gone after one of the world's most powerful people.
As reported by the Independent, Pope Leo's first media interview was conducted around the end of July this year for an upcoming biography, and he has discussed a number of topics including his time as a missionary, the ongoing invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and his hopes for peace.

One topic of conversation that has caught the attention of many though is his thoughts on the current wealth of the world's richest individuals, as he specifically calls out Elon Musk following a recent Tesla compensation plan that would make him the world's first trillionaire.
"CEOs that 60 years ago might have been making four to six times more than what the workers are receiving [...] 600 times more [now]," expressed Pope Leo with concern, turning then his attention to Musk.
"Yesterday [there was] news that Elon Musk is going to be the first trillionaire in the world. What does that mean, and what's that about? If that is the only thing that has value anymore, then we're in big trouble," he declared.

While Elon was recently overtaken by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison in a shocking move, he is once again firmly on top of lists that chart the world's richest individuals, possessing a current net worth of $474,600,000,000 according to data from Forbes.
He might not only get his money from a single source, as his significant stakes in SpaceX, Tesla, and xAI all contribute to his overwhelming fortunes, but he without a doubt earns incomprehensibly more than the average employee at these companies.
Musk is only likely going to get richer as time goes on either, as not only do his companies show no signs of slowing down their rapid growth, but the aforementioned compensation package from Tesla remains held up in court despite the will of Tesla board members to grant him what will be an immense amount of money in the form of shares.
