After months of silence, former Astronomer Chief People Officer (CPO) Kristin Cabot has spoken out about that viral kiss that was seen by millions around the world.
While Cabot and Astronomer CEO Andy Byron were both married to other people at the time, a kiss between the pair was captured at a July 2025 Coldplay concert in Boston.
More than just being snapped by some private detective looking for cheating spouses, Byron and Cabot were caught on kiss cam and even highlighted by the band's frontman, Chris Martin.
That would've been enough to deal with, but when someone shared the awkward moment on TikTok, things soon blew up.

As with most things these days, the internet found their identities within seconds, leading to people pretending to be Byron, the pair having their homes camped at by paparazzi, and Astronomer being thrust into the limelight like it couldn't expect.

Even though its shamed CEO stepped down and was quickly replaced, the data tech company ran with its newfound fame and couldn't help but poke fun at the situation. This included a clever bit of marketing that involved Marvel star and Martin's ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow.
Known for her roles in the likes of Seven, Shakespeare in Love, and Sliding Doors, Paltrow also starred in all three Iron Man movies, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame – although she once forgot she was in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A one-minute Astronomer advert included Paltrow saying she'd been hired as a 'temporary spokesperson' to handle the kiss cam situation, with the MCU staple explaining: "Hi, I’m Gwyneth Paltrow. I’ve been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer.
"Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days. And they wanted me to answer the most common ones."
Captioned with, "Thank you for your interest in Astronomer," it was praised as a 10/10 response.
However, not everyone was impressed with the Goop owner making light of the situation. Speaking to The New York Times, Cabot shared her thoughts on the Paltrow commercial, and by the sounds of it, she's not happy.
Breaking her silence on all things kiss cam, Cabot admitted that she 'recoiled' when watching the Paltrow bit. Having apparently admired the actor and her creation of Goop to "empower, support and uplift women,” Cabot couldn't believe she'd jump on the bandwagon.
The article mentions how Cabot was shocked that Paltrow and Martin could be so "insensitive to the messy realities of private lives," with Cabot herself referring to the pair popularizing the phrase "conscious uncoupling."
Paltrow didn't respond to the outlet's request for comment, but elsewhere, Cabot goes on to say how she found women to be worse than men when it came to the backlash against her.
Before mentioning Paltrow, the former HR boss admitted: "What I’ve seen these last months makes it harder for me to believe that it’s all about the men holding us back. I think we are holding ourselves back tremendously by cutting each other down."
Still, the NYT notes that it was at the end of a long day with a tired-looking Cabot, and ultimately, she concluded: "I am not excusing the men. Please don’t hear me say that."
Then again, it sounds like Goop might've just lost a customer.
