If you weren't already worried about being watched, and that CCTV cameras everywhere are keeping us under constant surveillance, the story of ex-Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and chief HR officer Kristin Cabot should be a lesson to us all.
Millions of people have watched the original clip that shows the pair in an embrace, even though they're both supposedly married to other people. The viral scene unfolded at a Coldplay concert, with frontman Chris Martin putting his foot in it when Byron and Cabot appeared on the jumbotron and he told the crowd: "Oh, what...either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy."
Byron has since resigned from his position at the tech startup, while Cabot's future with the company remains unsure. There have been fake statements, people wrongly accused of being Byron, but at the time of writing, there have been no official statements from the main parties involved.

One person people are dying to hear from is Byron's wife, Meg Kerrigan Byron. Having apparently already dropped Byron from her name on Facebook before entirely removing the account, she's said to have left their marital home and headed to their $2.4 million mansion in Maine.
The woman who posted the original clip has said she has no regrets sharing the footage, adding: "Unfortunately, I think a lot of women, including myself, have been through situations like that. I had people in my life that knew and didn't tell me, so I would want to be told."
Although not as scathing, Astronomer has similarly called out Byron and said that as the company remains "committed to the values and culture" it's held since its founding, those same exacting standards have 'not been met' due to recent events.
According to the Daily Mail, Byron's neighbours at the $2.4 million Maine mansion are equally unimpressed by his antics. The outlet was reportedly told to move from the exclusive street next to a golf club, with one angry resident saying: "Everyone has seen it but the family do not want to talk about it."

Neighbours apparently said that while his actions are 'disgusting', the family deserves 'privacy' at this time.
Still, with 127.3 million (and counting) people having seen the original clip and the story being reported around the world, it doesn't look like they'll be getting much privacy.
The Daily Mail also claims that Cabot is married to a man called Andrew Cabot, who is the CEO of a Massachusetts-based liquor company called Privateer Rum.
Details are equally thin on the ground, although the pair were said to be married when selling a $1.8 million property earlier in 2025.

Even though neither Andy Byron nor Kristin Cabot has been seen since the infamous moment, Astronomer confirmed they'd both been placed on leave before he resigned.
As for Byron's wife, she was reportedly in good company as various family members have joined her in Maine since being thrown into all this unwanted attention.
