‘Coldplaygate’ CEO Andy Byron has been targeted by his namesake in a LinkedIn post that has since gone viral.

This comes as the real Byron deleted his own LinkedIn account.

The drama unfolded with Astronomer CEO Byron and CFO Kristen Cabot were filmed appearing on the big screen during a ‘kiss cam’ portion of a Coldplay concert where lead singer Chris Martin serenades attendees.

However, when Byron and Kristin Cabot were shown on camera, they seemed to be shocked and quickly moved to hide themselves from view.

At the time, Martin joked that they were ‘either having an affair’ or really shy.

Since then, internet sleuths have discovered that they are actually colleagues and are married to other people.

This caused quite a stir on social media, with even the likes of Elon Musk reacting to it on his own platform X, formerly Twitter.

On LinkedIn, another person with the same name as Byron took to the social media app to say: “No, this isn;t me. I wouldn’t be caught dead at a Coldplay concert…

“I’m the Andy Byron who makes videos for big screens, not the one who gets caught on them.

“If you want to make video content that goes viral for the right reasons, let’s connect.”

He went on to add: “My wife is going to be so happy when I tell her that I won LinkedIn for a day. And you know, that I wasn't cheating on her with a co-worker…”

Many people took to the comment section of this post to share their own reactions, with one user writing: “Never met you before I was just on social media, found your name, and looked up your name sake. This is class.”

Another said: “I feel like I should give you a hug and say I'm sorry for what you're going through. Totally platonic and not in front of a Jumbotron though.”

And third person commented: “You are officially ‘The Good Witch’ of Andy Byrons.”

And a fourth added: “Wow — 7,695 likes, 472 comments, and 144 reposts as of almost 5 AM PST?! Do you realize what it would take to pull this off — not just the ad dollars, but a whole creative team pitching ideas just to get half this kind of traction. And even then? Good luck. Lmaoo. Congrats! I bet you get some referrals from this too.”

Neither the real Byron nor Cabot have released statements on the matter.
