Stranger Things creator begs fans to 'cut him some slack' after controversial finale interviews.
Just like all good things must come to an end... one of Netflix's top-rated shows Stranger Things has met its demise, joining the likes of iconic television shows including Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and Mad Men.
While the story wrapped up in an huge 128-minute finale, the landing of the decade-long era hasn't landed smoothly.
The response to Stranger Things season 5 has been divisive among the fanbase, amid complaints about the odd release schedule and rumours of missing scenes.

Despite how many viewed the show's ending, The Duffer Brothers are already looking ahead.
The show's creators hope to create the style of a '80s Saturday-morning cartoon in the Stranger Things universe, though not every fan is sold on the idea.
Meanwhile, Matt and Ross Duffer have attempted to clarify the controversial ending to Stranger Things in a series of post-finale interviews. However, Matt has since stated that he regrets doing these interviews and asks fans to cut him some slack.
"I am not in a good place. Like, why the hell did we do any of them yesterday is beyond me. I'm like fried," Matt said in the interview. "I was getting over the flu. So anyone mad at any answers we gave you yesterday, just cut me some slack."
In a later statement, Matt Duffer reportedly said he wasn't in the right condition to give extensive media interviews so soon after the finale aired.
Some understandable fans of the show have defended the co-creator in the comments section on X, sharing: "It's got to be a lot to finish 10 years of writing and then do interviews where every single plot hole, no matter how small, is analyzed. People need to enjoy the show"
Another fan replied: "I feel like they need to stop interviewing because the more they talk the deeper the plot holes become. Just leave it as it is and move on".
But others haven't been so sympathetic. Given the series ran for nearly a decade with a reported $400 million budget, many argue fans deserved definitive conclusions rather than ambiguous post-show explanations.
"In other words, we’ve flopped our masterpiece. We’re sorry," one viewer commented.
Another user stated: "Fans waited forever for real payoff, not vague interviews. Get well soon, but own the mess you made."
Regardless of the controversy, though, Stranger Things stands as one of Netflix's biggest successes and most culturally influential shows.
