Eric Trump was thrown out of a ring by a top sumo wrestler at a crypto event.
While the internet spent the long weekend convinced that President Trump had mysteriously died, his son Eric was halfway around the world at a crypto event.
Eric Trump discovered that being 6-foot-5 doesn't mean much when you're facing off against a yokozuna, the highest rank of sumo wrestling, during his recent trip to Japan over the three-day weekend.
An Instagram video shows the 41-year-old businessman, dressed casually in a blue polo and denim shorts, stepping into the ring with confidence.

Trump tried his best to push the massive wrestler out of the ring, but Yokozuna didn't budge.
Instead, the sumo champion calmly wrapped his arms around the president's son, lifted him clean off his feet, and carried him right out of the ring, ending the first bout.
The 41-year-old took the defeat with good humour, laughing at how easily he'd been outmanoeuvred and respectfully bowing to his opponent.

During the second bout, Trump appeared to fare much better, managing to move the yokozuna a few inches from the starting line.
Shortly after, the sumo wrestler got a proper grip and started spinning Trump around in circles, ending the fight with style.
Once again, Trump couldn't help but laugh at how effortlessly the champion could manhandle him.
At one point, the yokozuna actually started coaching Trump on proper technique in the ring.

The advice seemed to help, as Eric managed to push his opponent more than halfway across the ring in their final exchange.
However, the victory was short-lived as the moment the sumo wrestler shifted into his defensive stance, he became an immovable force.
“Not every day you get invited to sumo the legend, Yokozuna! Almost had him!” Trump joked on his Instagram post. “A great honor!”

Social media users had varying reactions to the video, with some people praising Trump and others less impressed.
"This was awesome," replied one user while another wrote: "valiant effort".
A third user claimed: "Those guys are amazing! Make Sumo Great Again." Meanwhile, those who were more critical argued: "This isn't the flex you wish it to be."
The sumo experience fits in well with the Trump family's apparent love of combat sports. In fact, President Trump has a long history with WWE and maintains a friendship with UFC boss Dana White, with whom he's reportedly planning a cage fight at the White House for next year.
