AI chatbots can provide answers to a wide variety of questions and concerns, and while they might not always be as reliable as you might expect, one woman learned that you also should trust them to keep your secrets hidden.
While artificial intelligence tools can do a lot of things, there remains still a number of restrictions that the makers behind software like ChatGPT and Google's Gemini have implemented to prevent you from discussing certain topics.
These ethical barricades can lead to some hilarious results if you push their boundaries, but they're equally frustrating in certain scenarios where people are trying to get simple answers amid changing guidelines.
There are some things that you've simply never been able to discuss with AI chatbots though, leading some nefarious individuals to head to the black market for 'jailbroken' versions that allow you to perform illegal tasks, yet one woman has had her own disturbing ChatGPT conversation history dredged up amid an arrest.

As reported by the New York Post, 43-year-old Cheryl Harris Gates was arrested last Friday (October 10) after allegedly spiking her husband's energy drink with "prescription medications with the intention of causing a blackout condition or incapacitation," as revealed by the warrant.
One arrest affidavit revealed in addition that Gates had allegedly discussed and researched "lethal" and "incapacitating" drug combinations using ChatGPT, with the intent to inject or force consumption on a victim.
She had seemingly used the AI to aid in her research, leading her to purchase specific materials including medications, syringes, capsule filling kits, medical droppers, scales, and other tools that she used to spike her husband's drink.

Gates is currently facing charges of attempted murder in the first degree, alongside contaminating food or drink with the intent to cause harm. She has also been charged with stalking and damage to property.
Her husband, who has not been living with Cheryl for the duration of the research and attacks, reported experiencing two separate states of incapacitation after drinking a beverage on July 12 and August 18 this year.
There are also claims that Gates placed a tracking device on her husband's vehicle, and allegedly damaged one of the windows on his property.

She had previously been arrested and imprisoned in Mecklenburg County Jail, but was denied bond after being arrested for the second time, with information regarding her ChatGPT conversation history emerging as new evidence in the case against her.
