While it's terrifying to think that AI might one day steal our jobs, at the moment (most) of our careers are safe - so it's a bit more fun to laugh at it when it gets things wrong.

One of the biggest trends on the internet right now is asking AI to sketch out what the average person looks within a certain criteria - whether it's the average Joe from each American state, or what the classic dog owner looks like for different breeds.

Now, AI has come through once again - and this time the spotlight is on what the 'average' person might look like depending on their job. See what you think:

BuzzFeed tasked an AI model to visualize what the classic person might look like depending on their job - and while some actually seem spot on, others are raising more than a few eyebrows.

Let's dive in - you'll definitely want to see if your profession has made the list - and what AI then reckons you look like IRL.

Buzzfeed

Apparently you can only be an accountant if you wear glasses - those are the rules. And what on Earth is that keyboard contraption they're holding? We thought AI was supposed to be cutting-edge - that certainly is not.

These baristas are pretty much a clichéd hipster stereotype. Yes, we have been served our fair share of coffees by people who look like this - but plenty of other types of people are baristas too.

Buzzfeed

We've seen Disney+'s The Bear - we're pretty sure chefs are nowhere near this cheery.

Buzzfeed

We don't have any major problems with AI's representation of doctors - but is anyone else seeing Daniel Craig on the left?

Buzzfeed

As fast food employees tend to err on the younger side, this one feels just about right - but we've got to say, they look more like actors playing fry cooks rather than the real deal.

Buzzfeed

The firefighters look suitably rugged - and we'd definitely watch a TV show about their lives and loves at the fire station. Somebody should definitely make a TV series based on that... oh wait.

Buzzfeed

Once again, AI has veered into extreme stereotyping for its representation of influencers - but we can also imagine this duo trying to sell us hair products on Instagram.

Buzzfeed

Is AI only capable of creating improbably gorgeous people? That's certainly the case for these flight attendants.

Buzzfeed

Yikes - these nurses seriously look like they've seen some gnarly stuff at work. They look positively ghostly.

Buzzfeed

OK, we'll give AI this one - these news anchors look pretty spot on. Although something does seem a little off with the anchor on the left - it kind of looks like her neck has been stretched out. Almost, AI - almost.

Buzzfeed

While we definitely have had a few English teachers who looked like this, the whole vibe really is a bit much - and the fashion looks like they're stuck in the 50s.

Buzzfeed

These two are apparently lawyers - but they look so young, have they even finished law school yet?!

Buzzfeed

According to AI, the qualifications for working as a software developer are owning glasses and a hoodie - that's it.

Buzzfeed

Similar to the chefs, these waiters look far too happy - anyone who's worked in customer service would find it hard to keep such a cheesy grin.

Buzzfeed

We're not sure we'd want to do a session with these PTs - it feels like we wouldn't be able to walk for a week afterwards.

Buzzfeed

AI's representation of therapists is actually quite haunting - and we can't help but think that the left looks like Walter White from Breaking Bad, who certainly wasn't a therapist.

Buzzfeed

And to really finish with a bang, this is what AI thinks classic morticians look like. It's probably the most ludicrous representation on the list - they look like Victorian ghosts brought back from the dead.
