Artificial intelligence has created what an ‘average person’ from each country looks like.
And it’s fair to say that people have been cringing pretty hard at what it has come up with.
This all started when a user on Reddit asked AI to generate some images of the most stereotypical person from each country and users have been pretty offended by the results.

The first image it generated was Sweden and, according to the AI, a stereotypical person from the country will have ice blonde hair that is straight and slicked back.
They’ll also have a chiselled jawline, and wear a blue suit with a yellow tie (patriotic).

For Italy, the typical Italian will be sitting outside of a restaurant wearing a tweed jacket, a green waistcoat and a flat cap.
He’ll be donning a pair of black round glasses and sporting a moustache and beard.
But what is he eating? Obviously, pizza.

Have you got any guesses for France? The AI depicted a stereotypical French person as having a moustache and small round glasses.
They’ll also be wearing a beret and a bow tie, and of course, will be standing right in front of the Eiffel Tower. Duh.
Now let’s get onto the good old English, shall we?

The AI has an English person wearing a flat cap, a tweed jacket, and a knitted vest complete with a pink tie. Plus he seems to be holding what we can only assume is a piping hot cup of tea.
Although, to be honest, with an English person the AI is probably spot on with the tea part.
This sparked quite a reaction in the comment section, with Reddit users voicing their offence at the images.

One person said “As a Finn, I find this really inaccurate.” Before going on to joke: “Our mushroom pineapple moss hats are not that tall.”
Another wrote: “Why is the Danish guy dressed like he is homeless?”
A third commented: “As a German I find this thoroughly not accurate.”
A fourth user questioned: “Why does Norway look like Borat.”
And a fifth person added: “Are you alright Netherlands?”
To be fair, the creator asked for stereotypes, and they got just that, but that didn’t stop people sharing their fury in the comments.
Some have also called out the AI for sexism but there are no women whatsoever included in the selection.
It might be the future, but AI has a few things to clear up first.
