Buying a new phone can be an incredibly expensive ordeal – especially as the rise of AI looks to eliminate the budget options entirely – so trading in an old device is something many people lean on to save money.
Apple's trade-in program is seen as one of the best in the business when it comes to encouraging this, as while the process behind it all remains relatively secretive, the benefits are easy to see for consumers.
Many iPhone owners often go through a two-year cycle when they use the trade-in value of a device from two generations ago to significantly mark down the cost of a new iPhone — and there's never been a better time than now to get the most from your old phone.
Apple raises trade-in value for countless phones and gadgets
As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple's latest adjustment to its trade-in valuations has seen the sale price of most device increase, with some rising by as much as $70 in the best case scenario.

This doesn't just apply to iPhones or even just Apple products, as most devices in the wider ecosystem, alongside Android phones from companies like Google and Samsung are also included in the price bump.
While Apple does generally increase the price of its trade-ins every year, this is a particularly large bump that might convince some to finally pull the trigger and get a new phone — and it could also help shave off the cost of the new foldable iPhone Ultra that's likely to become the most expensive iPhone ever when its rumored to launch later this year.
